Software Engineer (II-III), Full Stack

The company builds autonomous spacecraft, advanced payloads, mission software, and space-based interceptors for U.S. and allied forces to maintain control of space and counter threats there.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain satellite command and control, mission planning, mission data processing, and data analysis systems in Elixir.
• Contribute your views during team discussions on architecture, design, and code reviews.
• Work with engineers from other disciplines to produce results greater than the sum of their parts.

Requirements

• Hands-on experience developing software in Elixir.
• Front-end experience.
• A bachelor's degree in computer science or a similar field, or equivalent relevant experience.
• Experience with functional programming in Elixir, Erlang, Clojure, Haskell, Ruby, or F.
• Proven experience designing resilient, fault-tolerant architecture.
• Demonstrated leadership, strong written and spoken communication, and the ability to work across disciplines.
• Enjoy debugging and solving problems in live systems.
• Experience with distributed systems.
• A strong inclination to question and replace the status quo.
• U.S. citizen who is eligible for a DoD Secret or TS/SCI clearance.
• Preferred: deep understanding of Elixir and OTP, including BEAM scheduling, GenServers, run queues, pg, or the Actor model.
• Preferred: experience with React, TypeScript, and React Three Fiber or three.js.
• Preferred: experience with OAuth2 and role-based access controls.
• Preferred: deep understanding of network protocols.
• Preferred: database experience with PostgreSQL or MySQL.
• Preferred: experience monitoring and tracing in a distributed system.

Conditions

Base salary range is $115,000 - $165,000.

Your level and base salary are decided case by case, based on job-related knowledge and skills, education, location, and experience.

This is an onsite role for candidates near Denver, CO or Long Beach, CA.

Work environment factors such as temperature, noise, and indoor or outdoor conditions may affect your working conditions while doing this job.

Physical demands include bending, sitting, lifting, and driving.

Because of U.S. Government space technology export rules, including ITAR, you must be a U.S. citizen, a lawful permanent resident, a protected individual under 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
