Description

The company is a full-service engineering, design, and construction firm that supports utility and infrastructure projects from planning and design through execution, with work spanning engineering, environmental, laboratory, technical, and field services.

Founded in 1985, the company merged with J.D. Hair & Associates in 2026, adding trenchless, geotechnical, and structural engineering expertise. It is a member of the company Family of Companies and works with a wider international team on integrated engineering, design, and construction work.

This role supports the electrical distribution design process by applying project management practices. You will work alongside the Project Manager on QA/QC and training, and help plan, direct, and coordinate assigned projects so they meet their goals within set deadlines and budgets. You need a solid grasp of how the business operates, how to adapt when conditions change, and who to go to with questions. Strong verbal and written communication, the ability to work both alone and in a team, and attention to deadlines and internal and external customer needs are essential.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, and apply project management methods to support electrical distribution design.
  • Work with the Project Manager on QA/QC and training activities.
  • Plan, direct, and coordinate assigned projects to meet their goals within the set timeline and funding limits.
  • Anticipate and meet the needs of internal and external customers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field, or 3+ years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of the two.
  • Experience coordinating field operations, QA/QC, training, and design processes.
  • Experience with GE Smallworld, SAP, or similar utility design and work management systems is preferred.
  • Strong communication and customer interaction skills.
  • Able to work in a team and also independently with minimal supervision, staying self-motivated.

Conditions

Roughly 25% fieldwork and 75% office-based work.

Field assignments are usually in your local geographic area, with minimal overnight travel; occasional overnight stays may be required.

On non-field days, your work location (company office or home office) depends on where you are based.

Equal opportunity employer: applicants are considered without regard to race, age, sex, marital status, sexual orientation, gender identity, veteran status, or disability.

Benefits

  • Company invests an average of $5,000 per employee on training each year.
  • Access to a benefits program, subject to eligibility, including medical, dental, and life insurance, flexible spending accounts, a health savings account, short-term and long-term disability insurance, a 401(k) plan, a legal plan, and identity theft monitoring.
  • 15 to 25 days of paid time off and 8 paid holidays each year.
  • Family-owned and operated company that shares experience and insights to develop industry leaders.
  • The company will never ask you to put speed ahead of safety.
