Description

This role leads web operations and the US design system for the company's U.S. market business units. The audiences are healthcare professionals (HCP), healthcare consumers (HCC), and people using AI-driven search. The leader guides how web design systems evolve, are governed, and get adopted, with the goal that web content is clear, compliant, and easy for external AI search engines, large language models, and conversational interfaces to find, interpret, and cite.

You will work closely with the Digital Engagement Operations team and with Marketing and Promotion, Digital Execution, IT, Design, and Development. You will offer subject-matter expertise, propose customer-focused solutions, and help shape guidance with the Legal and Regulatory team so that web marketing materials stay high quality and compliant.

You will set and manage the roadmap for the US design system and decide which capabilities to build first, based on user experience and business goals. You will also drive accessibility and compliance work, shorten legal and regulatory review cycles, and set standards, processes, and tools for web projects. You will think ahead about how all US human health web content is structured, governed, and used as new technology and search trends emerge.

Responsibilities

  • Give direction and oversight for the US human health web user experience across consumer and HCP portals.
  • Help define and promote the future discoverability vision for the Customer Engagement Orchestration team.
  • Build a forward-looking web strategy for the HCC channel that keeps pace with the fast-changing digital landscape, uses emerging technology, and supports business objectives.
  • Create and maintain web channel and design system standards, including templates and detailed technical and business documentation, so they stay accurate, compliant, and consistent.
  • Take web channel standards materials through several rounds of Legal and Regulatory review until they are approved, so all websites follow the same standards.
  • Evaluate and rank new web features, technologies, and best practices that could improve customer engagement.
  • Pilot new capabilities and turn the successful ones into components that brands and channels can reuse.
  • Improve US design system components so content is easier to discover and more engaging.
  • Run experiments to test user experience changes and improve high-value actions.
  • Lead research, prototyping, and testing, and use web performance data to find areas to improve.
  • Act as the go-to subject-matter expert, giving strategic advice and solving complex problems across teams and initiatives.
  • Own the Jira backlog, run standups, and set up ticketing processes that improve throughput and predictability for the HCC and Platform Development teams.
  • Use clear strategic thinking and well-organized presentations to win over leaders and cross-functional decision makers.
  • Shift priorities quickly when urgent needs come up, balance competing demands, and keep work moving in a changing environment.
  • Spot problems early, fix them, and keep stakeholders aligned and operations running efficiently.
  • Train internal teams and external partners on web channel standards, solutions, and US design system guidelines.
  • Work with IT and digital execution teams, creative agencies, and marketing stakeholders to plan technical delivery and improve processes.
  • Share best practices and standard design system components with legal, regulatory, and marketing teams.
  • Build trust with legal and regulatory reviewers so approvals move faster and take less time.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and 7+ years of professional experience, including 5+ years in digital marketing, web strategy, IT, design systems, or a related digital channel field.
  • Proven experience managing a product backlog, such as in Jira, setting priorities, and running digital channel roadmaps.
  • Experience with multi-brand design systems, such as Figma, and with creative and development workflow tools.
  • Solid grasp of web usability, accessibility standards (automated scans and manual reviews), and compliance processes in a heavily regulated setting.
  • Experience applying web discoverability practices, including search engine optimization, AI-driven search, structured content, semantic markup, and content strategy that help digital experiences get found, understood, and cited.
  • A track record of working across teams with Marketing, IT, Design, Development, and Legal, Regulatory, and Compliance.
  • Strong leadership, communication, stakeholder management, and influence across functions.
  • Preferred: experience launching and leading new web capabilities and scaling operational improvements.
  • Preferred: agile experience, such as owning a Jira backlog, running standups, and setting up ticketing processes, which is strongly preferred.
  • Preferred: background in HCC and HCP engagement, pharmaceutical marketing, or other regulated industries.
  • Preferred: strong problem-solving and analytical skills, and comfort handling competing priorities in a fast-changing environment.
  • Required skills listed include adaptability, systems architecture, Atlassian Jira, content creation, creativity, cross-functional leadership, customer engagement, customer insights, design systems, digital consumer engagement, digital marketing, digital media and media channels, multidisciplinary teamwork, omnichannel marketing, operational efficiency, pharmaceutical marketing, process implementation and improvement, product launches, product management, SEO, search engines, strategic planning, and 7 more.
