The company is hiring an Associate Cloud Engineer for its Cloud Platform Engineering team, working on cloud-native infrastructure for edge computing and 5G networks.

You would help build and test software for highly distributed cloud platforms while growing your skills in Kubernetes, OpenStack, containers, automation and open-source development.

You will work with engineers across the globe and in other functions to ship dependable platform features, track down hard software faults and deepen your knowledge of modern cloud infrastructure.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain software components in C, C++ and Python.
  • Develop parts of the cloud platform used in edge and distributed computing environments.
  • Help integrate, validate, test and automate cloud infrastructure solutions.
  • Find and fix software faults through debugging, root cause analysis and automated tests.
  • Work with engineering teams around the world and join code reviews on an Agile team.
  • Write up technical solutions, designs and implementation details, applying good practice for scale, reliability and code quality.
  • Contribute to open-source and cloud-native projects, including the open-source edge platform the team works on, and keep building your cloud infrastructure expertise.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, electrical engineering, computer engineering or a closely related field.
  • Strong C and C++ programming skills, with Python used for scripting and automation.
  • A solid grasp of object-oriented programming, software development methods and debugging.
  • Working knowledge of Linux development environments and software development fundamentals.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and an interest in cloud infrastructure and distributed systems.
  • The ability to collaborate in cross-functional teams and explain technical topics clearly.
  • Preferred: exposure to Kubernetes, Docker, OpenStack, StarlingX, CI/CD, distributed systems, edge computing, telecom or 5G, or open-source development.

Conditions

The pay range is $65,000 to $80,000 CAD, plus an annual incentive plan bonus.

Pay is set by education, experience, knowledge, skills, location, abilities and internal equity.

The role uses a hybrid work arrangement.

Benefits

  • Company-sponsored health, dental and life insurance.
  • Short- and long-term disability coverage.
  • Matching RRSP.
  • Vacation and various time-off policies that support work-life balance.
  • Well-being and learning resources, including an Employee Assistance Program, mental wellness resources, LinkedIn Learning and technical training.
