Description

The company builds Claude, an AI system, and this role sits in its Applied AI team as a pre-sales technical architect for systems integrators, startups, and other GovTech companies.

You will act as a trusted technical advisor, showing these customers what Claude can do and how to integrate and deploy it into their technology stack. The work involves designing LLM solutions for complex mission problems while keeping to the company's standards for safety and reliability.

You will work with the Sales, Product, and Engineering teams to take customers from first technical discovery through to a working deployment. This includes explaining Claude's capabilities, helping build evals, and designing scalable architectures.

Responsibilities

  • Work with account executives to understand customer requirements and turn them into technical solutions that match business goals.
  • Act as the main technical advisor for enterprise customers from discovery and initial evaluation through to deployment, coordinating across internal teams and stakeholders.
  • Support customers building with Claude Code, the Claude API, and Claude for Enterprise.
  • Prepare and present technical material for different audiences, from deep dives for engineers and developers to business-value discussions for executives.
  • Advise on architecture decisions and help customers fit Claude into their existing technology stack.
  • Help customers create evaluation frameworks that measure Claude's performance on their own use cases.
  • Spot common integration patterns and feed insights back to the Product and Engineering teams.
  • Travel often to customer sites for workshops, technical deep dives, and relationship building.
  • Keep up to date with new developments in LLM capabilities and implementation patterns.

Requirements

  • Preferred: a US secret clearance, for work with defense tech customers.
  • Preferred: prior experience in government, government contracting, or government technology.
  • 5+ years in technical customer-facing roles such as Solutions Architect, Sales Engineer, or Technical Account Manager.
  • Experience guiding buying cycles that involve several stakeholders.
  • Ability to build relationships and explain technical ideas to a wide range of audiences, including C-suite executives and engineering or IT teams.
  • Strong technical communication, translating customer needs between technical and business stakeholders.
  • Experience designing scalable cloud architectures and integrating them with enterprise systems.
  • Familiarity with Python.
  • Familiarity with common LLM frameworks and tools, or a background in machine learning or data science.
  • Enjoy cross-team collaboration, weighing trade-offs, and balancing competing priorities.
  • Enjoy teaching, mentoring, and helping others succeed.
  • Interest in using technology safely and beneficially, and in advancing safe AI systems.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience, in a field relevant to the role as shown through coursework, training, or professional experience.
  • Years of experience required will follow the internal job level for the position.

Conditions

Annual salary: $275,000 to $315,000 USD. For sales roles, this range is the On Target Earnings (OTE), which includes both commission or bonus target and base salary.

Hybrid: staff are expected to be in an office at least 25% of the time. Some roles may need more office time.
