Staff+ Software Engineer, Enterprise Connectivity

The team is growing quickly and includes researchers, engineers, policy experts and business leaders.

This is a Staff+ technical leadership role focused on connecting Claude to enterprise tools. The work covers zero-touch activation, a growing connector ecosystem, and an enterprise control plane that lets organizations adopt with confidence. You will own the path from discovering a connector to using it daily, including default and suggested connectors, one-click setup, connector requests, and identity and admin features that simplify setup for a whole organization at once. You will work closely with product, design and data science and have real ownership over what ships next.

Responsibilities

• Own connector activation from first sight to first successful use and regular use: track the funnel, find the largest drop-offs, and fix them.
• Design and run experiments on default connectors, in-product suggestions, connector requests and onboarding flows.
• Make setup nearly zero-touch using open standards such as Cross App Access (XAA) and the MCP authorization spec, so one approval can enable a connector for everyone.
• Improve the most-used connectors, such as Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace, so the first experience works and stays reliable.
• Build shared platform components that make each new connector faster to launch, discover and activate.
• Build admin controls and governance features, including domain restrictions, labels and permissions, that help security teams approve rollouts faster.
• Work with product, design, data science and sales to turn usage data and customer feedback into priorities.
• Set technical direction and standards, mentor engineers, and lead through influence rather than authority.

Requirements

• Have shipped growth or activation work such as onboarding flows, funnels and experiments, and measured what changed usage.
• Understand authorization and identity well enough to keep setup flows simple and secure, including OAuth 2.0, OIDC and SSO.
• Have built on large platform APIs such as Microsoft Graph or Google Workspace, and can debug failures on both sides of the integration.
• Have built platform or ecosystem surfaces that other teams or developers depend on, and value durable, well-designed APIs.
• Know what enterprise admins and security teams need from policy, permissions and governance at scale.
• Use data and user research to choose what to build, and can explain trade-offs to product and design partners.
• Drive alignment across teams and companies to ship, using influence rather than authority.
• Hold a Bachelor's degree or an equivalent mix of education, training and experience, in a field relevant to the role as shown through coursework, training or professional work.
• Have years of experience that match the internal job level for the role.
• Preferred: 8+ years of software engineering experience, ideally 2+ years at Staff or an equivalent technical leadership level.
• Preferred: Have contributed to or implemented emerging auth standards, such as IETF OAuth drafts or MCP authorization.
• Preferred: Experience with data governance or information protection, such as sensitivity labels or DLP.
• Preferred: Have built admin consoles or policy engines for multi-tenant SaaS.
• Preferred: Have run growth experiments on activation funnels.
• Preferred: Have built AI products or agent tool integrations using MCP.
• Preferred: Have helped grow a developer or partner ecosystem around a platform.

Conditions

Annual base salary range: $405,000 - $485,000 USD.

Hybrid policy: staff are expected to be in an office at least 25% of the time, and some roles may require more.

Visa sponsorship is available, but not for every role and candidate. If an offer is made, the company will make every reasonable effort to obtain a visa and retains an immigration lawyer to help.
