Description

The company is building financial technology and is hiring a software engineer with Java and AI experience for its Front Office Technology team.

You will work directly with front-office business teams to design and deliver applications. The work centres on enterprise Java, real-time data streaming and AI, applied to complex financial problems. The role suits someone who works well in a collaborative, quick-moving setting and enjoys building scalable, resilient and intelligent systems.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and release large-scale enterprise applications with Java, Spring and Kafka.
• Create responsive user interfaces using Angular and React.js.
• Apply AI and machine learning to build new features and automate processes.
• Work with MongoDB and Oracle to manage complex data.
• Write clean, testable code using JUnit, and take part in thorough code reviews.
• Work in an Agile setting, using Jira to track work and meet deadlines.
• Work with containers and Kubernetes as part of the DevOps practice.
• Act as a subject matter expert, mentoring junior engineers and advising senior stakeholders on technical matters.

Requirements

• 6-9 years of professional software development experience.
• Strong working knowledge of Java, Spring, Spring Boot and their wider ecosystem.
• Hands-on experience with Kafka for data streaming.
• Experience with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB and relational databases such as Oracle.
• Experience with Angular front-end development.
• A foundational grasp of AI concepts and how to apply them.
• Ability to perform well under pressure and manage deadlines.
• Preferred: deep knowledge of Java 11+, Spring, Spring Boot and reactive programming.
• Preferred: Python for scripting.
• Preferred: Kubernetes for containerization and orchestration.
• Preferred: experience building with Angular and React.js.
• Preferred: experience with testing frameworks such as JUnit.
• Preferred: familiarity with Atlassian tools, especially Jira.
• A bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience.

Conditions

Full-time position.

Base salary range: $94,300.00 to $141,500.00.
