The company is a large healthcare business whose insights, products and services aim to make quality care more accessible and affordable.

This senior analyst role sits in the Business Intelligence group of the Supply Chain Analytics centre of excellence and reports to its director.

You will support the Canadian business's largest segment, pharmaceutical distribution, by building BI content that shows current performance, surfaces trends and helps solve problems.

You will work with business analysts and managers to produce interactive reports and dashboards, gather requirements, query existing data sources, build data models and develop BI reports.

Responsibilities

  • Meet with managers and analysts to pin down current business issues, gather their needs, and turn those needs into data models and performance indicators.
  • Write SQL to pull and examine data from reporting databases, transactional systems, operational data stores and external sources, giving internal and external leaders what they need for decisions.
  • Create data models and DAX measures that feed data visualizations.
  • Design interactive, insightful visual reports in Microsoft Power BI.
  • Test emerging data analytics technologies and bring the useful ones into the Canadian supply chain work.
  • Keep checking data quality across databases, and work with IT to fix source data or build data translation mechanisms when needed.
  • Keep up with best practice in business data analysis through publications, training and ongoing professional development.
  • Share the content you build and teach stakeholders how to use the Power BI tools.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of relevant experience in business intelligence or in a highly analytical business role.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to structure complex problems and solve them.
  • Experience writing and running SQL queries.
  • Working knowledge of SQL, Oracle and Snowflake databases and their architecture.
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve data quality problems.
  • Experience with Power BI or a similar business intelligence platform.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field such as computer science, mathematics or engineering.
  • Asset: experience with the Microsoft Power Platform (Power BI, Power Apps and Power Automate).
  • Asset: strong command of DAX and M Query.
  • Asset: solid grasp of data models and of Power BI report design, with close attention to the user experience.
  • Asset: knowledge of AI tools, including machine learning and natural language processing.
  • Asset: understanding of statistical models used in predictive analytics, such as regressions.
  • Asset: familiarity with Python.
  • Asset: bilingual in French and English, spoken and written.
  • Asset: ability to build credibility and trust quickly across the organization and persuade people with ideas and recommendations.

Conditions

You will support internal and external clients every day outside Quebec and/or in the United States, so you must be fluent in spoken and written English.

This is a 12-month contract.

The company is an equal opportunity employer.

Benefits

  • Competitive total rewards package.
  • Base pay may be supplemented by an annual bonus or long-term incentives.
  • Pay is set by performance, experience and skills, equity, regular market reviews and geographic market.
