The role sits on the ETF Market Making team and centres on low-latency electronic trading algorithms. The team uses AI-assisted development to improve engineering productivity, quality, and delivery.

Application deadline: 12/30/2026. Location: 100 King Street West. Job family group: Capital Markets Sales & Service.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, test, and maintain low-latency algorithms for ETF pricing, quoting, execution, hedging, and inventory management.
  • Build systematic trading, pricing, and risk tools for ETFs and related products, including equities, futures, options, fixed income, and FX.
  • Connect systems to exchanges, brokers, market data feeds, and RFQ platforms.
  • Develop reusable trading services and desk tools covering market data, fair value, order management, risk controls, automation, and workflow integration.
  • Measure and improve latency, throughput, fill quality, markouts, quote performance, and resiliency across the trading stack.
  • Create simulation, replay, monitoring, and diagnostic tools using application, market, and packet-level data.
  • Own production readiness and support, including testing, deployment, observability, incident analysis, and ongoing improvement of live systems.
  • Use AI-assisted development tools to speed up implementation, testing, and documentation while meeting engineering and security standards.
  • Enable new ETFs, venues, trading workflows, and asset structures through scalable configuration and platform changes.
  • Work with traders, engineering, technology, operations, and control teams to turn desk priorities into reliable, compliant production solutions.

Requirements

  • Have 5 to 7 years of relevant experience and a post-secondary degree in a related field, or an equivalent mix of education and experience.
  • Bring strong software engineering experience in Python and/or C++, including designing, testing, and supporting production systems.
  • Be fluent in modern programming concepts and able to work across several languages, scripting environments, APIs, and data formats as needed.
  • Have built electronic trading algorithms, low-latency systems, real-time applications, or other performance-sensitive software.
  • Know electronic trading workflows, market data, order lifecycles, and protocols such as FIX or venue-native interfaces.
  • Understand ETFs, market structure, pricing, execution, hedging, and risk management in one or more related asset types.
  • Have experience with Linux, source control, automated testing, CI/CD, observability, performance analysis, and production diagnostic tools.
  • Can analyze large market and trading datasets and turn the findings into reliable engineering solutions.
  • Use AI-assisted development tools effectively, with sound judgment on validation, security, and software quality.
  • Solve problems well, communicate clearly, and collaborate in a fast-paced trading environment.
  • Hold a post-secondary degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Finance, or a related field, or an equivalent mix of education and experience.
  • You are a builder who pairs engineering discipline with strong trading instincts. You enjoy complex market problems, take ownership from design through production, and want to scale the algorithms and technology behind a leading ETF market-making business.
