Description

The company makes a no-code network automation platform used by IT operations teams and managed service providers to automate troubleshooting, outage prevention and change management across hybrid multi-cloud networks. Over 2,500 large enterprises and providers use it.

The platform relies on a large, growing set of resources: device drivers and API plugins, parsers, Runbooks, Network Intents, and assessment and diagnosis logic. These resources decide what the platform can see, understand and automate in each customer network.

This role owns the engineering that keeps those resources correct, broad in coverage and reliable. You will build the frameworks, tooling and simulated network environments that test resources at scale, define what correct means for each resource type, and make resource quality measurable and enforced on every release. You will also build and improve resources yourself when gaps turn up.

Strong Python skills combined with networking knowledge are a особенно good fit for this role.

Responsibilities

  • Design and build the validation framework and automation infrastructure that test resources such as drivers, parsers, Runbooks, Intents, assessment logic and integrations across vendors, technologies and platform versions.
  • Write code for resource verification engines, conformance checks, diffing and baseline tools, and the utilities resource developers use daily.
  • Build and run simulated and virtualized networks, including emulated devices, captured device data and containerized topologies, so resources can be tested without physical hardware.
  • Turn customer environments and real network scenarios into the coverage model that resources are measured against.
  • Review resource coverage across the supported device and technology matrix, find gaps, and lead or write the resources needed to fill them.
  • Test resource behavior through platform upgrades and version changes, covering compatibility, scalability and stability with production-scale data.
  • Investigate complex resource issues raised by global enterprise customers, find root causes, and deliver fixes that stop the issue from returning.
  • Track and report resource quality metrics such as coverage, accuracy, parsing success rate and release readiness, and use them to guide engineering decisions.
  • Work with Product Management, Development and Support to improve resource architecture, authoring efficiency and the full resource lifecycle.
  • Research emerging technologies such as SDN, SD-WAN and public cloud, plus AI-assisted methods, and apply them to widen coverage or speed up validation.
  • Occasionally help the team resolve complex customer issues.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, mathematics, physics, engineering or a related field is required. A master's degree is preferred.
  • 5 to 8 years of software development experience, including building automation frameworks or developer tooling.
  • Strong Python skills, with real experience designing frameworks (such as pytest, unittest or Robot Framework), not only scripts.
  • Solid grasp of computer science fundamentals, data structures and algorithms.
  • Experience with REST APIs, data parsing and transformation, and JSON, YAML or XML.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI or GitHub Actions, and with Git.
  • Working knowledge of networking basics, including the OSI model, TCP/IP, and routing and switching (OSPF, BGP, VLAN, ARP), plus familiarity with device CLI output and configuration.
  • Ability to own a project from scoping and design through release.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication. Fluent English is required.
  • Preferred: deeper networking knowledge of MPLS, VXLAN, load balancing, network security and L2 to L4 packet forwarding.
  • Preferred: CCNA or CCNP, or equivalent hands-on network engineering experience.
  • Preferred: experience with emulation or simulation tools (such as EVE-NG, GNS3 or Cisco CML) or network automation libraries (such as Netmiko, NAPALM or Ansible).
  • Preferred: experience building parsers or normalizing data from multiple vendors.
  • Preferred: familiarity with AWS, Azure or GCP, SDN or SD-WAN.
  • Preferred: experience with Docker, Kubernetes or virtualized environments.
  • Preferred: experience with web UI automation, such as Selenium, for resource-level checks.

Conditions

The estimated base salary is CAD 96,000 to CAD 110,000, plus a potential bonus. The final figure may differ based on market factors and individual qualifications assessed in interviews. The range is a guideline and may change.
