This role sits in the program delivery and execution job family and centres on producing clear, accurate technical documents.

Responsibilities

  • Review technical products for grammar, punctuation and syntax, and check them for logic, clarity and consistency.

  • Write and edit documentation for the project's hardware and software, including installation, configuration, how-to guides and end-user guides.
  • Build and apply templates so every document type follows the same standard.
  • Make sure style and format meet agency publication rules and that terminology matches the prescribed style guides and subject matter vocabulary.
  • Adjust tables, text boxes and graphics so they support and match the surrounding text.
  • Apply classification markings according to the guidance provided.
  • Work with authors to reorganise their material and negotiate further edits when needed.
  • Keep the document library organised so files are easy to store, find, update and review.
  • Take on special projects as needed.

Requirements

  • Bring experience in operations, project planning and the Risk Management Framework.
  • Have at least 8 years of related experience, with a BA or BS degree plus 8 years of experience.
  • Hold a current Top Secret clearance with SCI access.
  • Be able to obtain a TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph.
  • Know the principles and practices of technical research, writing and editing.
  • Be able to use common word-processing and desktop publishing applications.
  • Understand the company's products and services, customer needs, the purpose and structure of required documents, and the reader's level of understanding.
  • Have hands-on experience with Microsoft Office.
  • DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification is desired but not required.

Conditions

US citizenship is required.

The role is onsite at 200 MacDill Blvd in Washington, DC (DCC174), with no additional work locations listed.

The schedule is 40 hours per week, with no travel required.

The likely salary range is $93,662 to $126,500. This is not a guaranteed figure, as pay depends on experience, location and possibly contract terms, and may fall outside this range.

Hiring includes an identity check using biometrics and AI. You must be on camera during virtual interviews, and the company may photograph you to verify identity; by proceeding you consent to the use of your biometric data for verification and security.

The company is an equal opportunity employer that welcomes individuals with disabilities and protected veterans.

Benefits

  • Medical plans, some with Health Savings Accounts, plus dental and vision plans.
  • A 401(k) with pre-tax and post-tax contributions up to IRS limits and a company match.
  • Full flex work weeks where possible, and paid time off for vacation, sick and personal days, holidays, parental, military, bereavement and jury duty.
  • Disability, life, accidental death and dismemberment, personal accident, critical illness and business travel accident coverage, provided or available.
