Description

The team is looking for a technical trainer in the customer service group to help customers use Datum, the company's warehouse execution system (WES), along with the control systems that run their automated conveyor operations.

Your main focus is building and delivering two training tracks: DCS System and DCS Software (Datum). Training covers Datum functions, software workflows and day-to-day system operation for Maintenance and Operations staff.

The company was founded in 1982 and serves large clients across several industries with material handling, full warehouse operations and custom conveyor design. It does not sell off-the-shelf systems; it works with customers to shape solutions for their needs, and the team shares ideas and builds on them together.

The company says it puts effort into its people, with a relaxed but focused culture, community outreach and company events.

Responsibilities

  • Teach Operations staff how each part of their system works and what it does.
  • Create manuals and slide decks for system training.
  • Design and run customer training on Datum, including navigation, operating workflows and troubleshooting. Explain how Datum interacts with automated conveyor and PLC controls, and turn technical documents and operating instructions into training plans and user guides.
  • Arrange vendor-led software and systems training during projects, and gather and organize documentation for customers.
  • Keep Maintenance and Operations teams informed, in speech and in writing, so training matches their needs and contract terms.
  • Keep records of completed training, and use participant feedback to find knowledge gaps and improve courses.
  • Sell and book extra software and systems training, set service charges and handle billing.
  • Travel up to 50% of the time, with 30% as the typical amount, to customer and vendor sites to deliver and attend training.

Requirements

  • At least two years working with fully automated conveyor and PLC control systems, including the software used to operate, monitor and troubleshoot them.
  • Working knowledge of high- and low-voltage electrical systems, and an understanding of how software and controls affect conveyor equipment.
  • Experience planning training schedules with clear objectives and hands-on, task-based instruction.
  • Ability to explain technical software and system concepts clearly, demonstrate workflows and help teams apply what they learn.
  • Strong customer service skills: you listen well and work with customers, vendors and colleagues to understand training needs.
  • Ability to juggle competing priorities and adjust training plans when schedules, customer needs or system requirements change.

Conditions

Equal opportunity: applicants are considered regardless of race, color, religion, national origin, age, sex, marital status, ancestry, disability, veteran status, gender identity or sexual orientation. Accommodation is available during the application, testing and interview process on request.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary.
  • Flexibility and autonomy in how you work.
  • Community outreach projects throughout the year.
  • Company events and a relaxed, family-like team culture.
  • Snacks, casual workplace and flexible PTO.
