Description

The company is working to make renewable energy more reliable, efficient and scalable.

The team is hiring a Technical Support Engineer for wind turbine operations. The role goes beyond standard technical support: you take ownership of hard problems and help improve the wind turbine fleet.

You move from diagnosing faults to building long-term fixes, so no two days look the same.

You will keep wind turbines running safely and reliably while pushing technical improvements.

You will work alongside field teams, design engineers and customers to investigate technical issues, find root causes and turn operational experience into practical solutions.

You look at the turbine as a whole system, covering electrical, mechanical and control components.

You will own your topics through to completion, shape corrective strategies and help approve turbine changes. Your input matters.

Responsibilities

  • Investigate complex technical issues across electrical, mechanical and control systems.
  • Coordinate troubleshooting between field teams, engineering and customers.
  • Lead root-cause investigations and see corrective actions through to completion.
  • Improve preventive and corrective maintenance processes.
  • Find ways to raise turbine reliability, performance and maintainability.
  • Turn field experience into technical recommendations aimed at long-term gains.
  • Write work instructions, troubleshooting guides and technical documentation.
  • Manage spare parts and tooling requirements.
  • Support Lean initiatives and continuous improvement.
  • Promote safe working practices, including LV/HV procedures and Wind Turbine Safety Rules.

Requirements

  • A degree in electrical engineering or an equivalent technical qualification, with a strong electrical background.
  • Experience in technical support, troubleshooting or maintenance of complex equipment, ideally in the wind industry.
  • An interest in wind turbines as complete systems, including how electrical and mechanical parts interact.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, an ownership mindset and a proactive approach.
  • Ability to work effectively with international, cross-functional teams.
  • Strong communication skills and a structured way of working.
  • Willingness to travel internationally and to work offshore when required.
  • Offshore wind maintenance experience and GWO certifications are an advantage.

Conditions

The role is based mainly in Hamburg and combines office-based engineering work with close contact with field teams and hands-on turbine operations.

Expect international travel and possible offshore interventions.

Relocation assistance is not provided.

Benefits

  • Real impact: shape turbine reliability, maintenance strategies and technical improvements.
  • Variety: diverse technical challenges, with no two days alike.
  • Ownership: take responsibility for technical topics and see your solutions put into practice.
  • Technical growth: broaden your expertise across electrical, mechanical and control systems.
  • International collaboration: work closely with experienced engineering and field service teams.
  • Development: build your technical skills and career in renewable energy.
