Description
At the company, we create software the world’s best brands use to deliver exceptional frontline experiences, build high-performing teams, and design products people love. Building a category takes grit, determination, and a disdain for convention—but most of all it requires close-knit, high-functioning teams with an unwavering dedication to serving our customers.
When you join one of our teams, you’ll be part of a nimble group that’s empowered to set aggressive goals and move fast to achieve them. Strategic risks are encouraged and complex problems are solved together, by passing the mic and iterating until the best solution comes to light. You won’t have to look to find growth opportunities—ready or not, they’ll find you. From retail to government to healthcare, we’re on a mission to bring humanity, connection, and empathy back to business.
SEO Specialist
Why We Have This Role
People arrive at the company because they searched for an answer — how to understand what their customers actually want, why their best employees leave, whether a product will land before they build it. Whether they find us depends on whether our site can be crawled, indexed, understood, and cited. That is the work. We run a large site consisting of thousands of pages across multiple languages and regions. Search itself is changing rapidly. An answer surfaced inside an AI-generated response now matters as much as (if not more than) a blue link, and the signals that earn it are not all the same ones that mattered five years ago. This is a senior, individual-contributor role and the only one of its kind on the team. You will own technical search for the company including site health, structured data and entity signals, and the working relationship with web engineering. You will not be handed a playbook for the AI-search half of it. You will write it.
How You’ll Find Success
You diagnose before you prescribe. You can read crawl data, log files, and Search Console together and tell a symptom from a cause.
You get things shipped. A technical finding is worth nothing until it is in production. You write requirements engineers respect, you understand why their roadmap looks the way it does, and you argue priority on business impact.
You quantify. You can put a number on what a fix is worth before you ask anyone to build it, and show what it returned afterward.
You translate. You explain a problem to an engineer and its business consequence to a marketing leader in the same afternoon, and both leave clear.
You work well without a playbook. The AI-visibility side of this role is genuinely still in motion. You are comfortable designing a measurement approach, being wrong about part of it, and revising.
How You’ll Grow
You will own a function outright, which is the fastest way there is to build judgment about what actually matters.
You will build our approach to visibility in AI-assisted search early enough that the work is formative rather than inherited.
You will work across web engineering, web marketing and localization which is broad exposure for a specialist role.
You will have the authority to set technical standards the wider marketing organization builds against, and a path toward broader search or web strategy leadership.
Things You’ll Do
Site health and technical foundations
Own crawl and index health end to end including crawl budget, indexation directives, sitemaps, robots directives, orphaned pages, broken and redirecting internal links, and all error remediation.
Own site architecture and internal linking as a system, how authority moves through the site, and whether the pages that matter are being prioritized.
Run page performance as an ongoing program: monitor Core Web Vitals across page templates, diagnose LCP, INP, and CLS regressions, and drive prioritized actions with engineering.
Lead technical SEO for migrations, rebrands, domain consolidations, and content deprecations including redirect mapping, pre-launch QA, and post-launch monitoring.
Structured data and machine understanding
Own the structured data roadmap: audit coverage, prioritize by opportunity, and ship in phases.
Build and maintain the entity model that connects our brand, products, people, and content into something a machine can resolve unambiguously.
Make sure content hierarchy, markup, and metadata express what a page is actually about to both to search engines and to the retrieval layers behind AI-generated answers.
International and multi-locale search
Own hreflang, canonical strategy, and localized site structure across languages and regions.
Diagnose and resolve cross-locale cannibalization and duplication.
AI and generative search visibility
Build our approach to visibility in AI-assisted search: how we are found, understood, cited, and represented in AI-generated answers.
Set crawler policy for AI and LLM agents deliberately, balancing visibility against control.
Track how retrieval and citation mechanics change, and adjust our technical approach before the impact shows up in traffic.
Engineering and cross-functional partnership
Act as the technical SEO counterpart to web engineering: write specifications, size effort collaboratively, and shepherd work through the backlog to release.
Embed SEO requirements into CMS templates, component libraries, and the standard pre-launch QA checklist so fixes become defaults.
Review new page templates, JavaScript rendering behavior, and site releases before they ship.
Set easy-to-follow, technical SEO standards for web marketing and web engineering partners.
Measurement and reporting
Own technical SEO reporting including what changed, what it was worth and what is next.
Build monitoring that catches regressions early rather than at the next quarterly audit.
Forecast the organic impact of proposed technical work and use it to prioritize.
