Description

The company builds next-generation space stations and infrastructure with an incremental, hardware-heavy, low-cost method, and is expanding its multi-module Haven station to keep people in orbit continuously for America and its allies.

Its 2025 demonstration mission flew and operated its own spacecraft, making it the only commercial station company currently operating one. Its first commercial station is due to launch in 2027, with more modules to follow. It also has a high-power satellite line built on station components and lessons from the 2025 mission.

The company is based in Long Beach, California, has over 1,000 employees and more than $1 billion in private funding, and has built the facilities to make and run its next station. Future plans include Moon and Mars habitats, stations for government clients, and other crewed systems.

This role supports the systems needed to design and build human-rated space stations with artificial gravity. You will lead cross-functional work on those systems for the first station and later products, reporting to the Manager, Technical Projects.

  • At least 1 year of cross-functional technical leadership, such as project engineering, product management, systems engineering, or engineering management.
  • A proven record of managing products through their full lifecycle.
  • Experience with project management and reporting tools such as MS Project, SmartSheet, JIRA, and Confluence.
  • Preferred: experience bringing at least one product to market as a technical contributor or lead.
  • Preferred: experience with NPI, or with developing and delivering spaceflight software and hardware.
  • Preferred: experience working across business functions as well as engineering disciplines.
  • Preferred: the ability to think strategically and carry out cross-disciplinary tactical plans.
