Description

The applied AI team builds intelligent agents that turn advanced AI capabilities into production-ready solutions. You will work directly with business and technology teams to solve hard engineering problems and take ideas from first concept to live deployment.

The work goes beyond chat tools. You will build systems that reason, plan and carry out multi-step workflows, and you will own the engineering lifecycle, from agent architecture and orchestration to enterprise integration, security and observability.

The team values hands-on engineering, close collaboration and quick delivery. You will help shape architecture decisions and reusable tools and engineering standards that other teams across the company adopt.

The Technical Program Manager for Applied AI and Agents is a senior strategic role. You will run the end-to-end lifecycle of complex, cross-functional applied AI and agent initiatives, coordinating program delivery, business unit engagement, intake, milestone tracking and second line of defense risk and governance. You will work closely with the group-wide AI PMO, Model Risk Management (MRM) and CISO Threat Operations.

Responsibilities

  • Run program execution and governance across all applied AI delivery streams, lining up technical dependencies between engineering pods, enterprise infrastructure teams and business units.
  • Manage engagement with business units, including scoping sessions, intake qualification and SLA tracking for agent project requests from Markets, Services, Banking, PBWM and Risk/Operations.
  • Build and maintain program dashboards covering delivery velocity, stage-gate approvals, token consumption and inference cost efficiency through the R2D2 Gateway, and realized business return.
  • Lead fast-track governance work, including MRM reviews, PTS onboarding and risk tiering for live agent deployments.
  • Align technical work across pods with second line of defense control partners (MRM, CISO, ICRM) so risk stays visible throughout the agent lifecycle.
  • Apply Agile and Scrum practices to AI delivery, managing sprint velocity, dependency roadmaps and blockers across several concurrent agent squads.
  • Assess risk when business decisions are made, with particular attention to the firm's reputation and to protecting the company, its clients and its assets. Drive compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations and with internal policy, use sound ethical judgment, and escalate, manage and report control issues openly.

Requirements

  • At least 10 years of experience in technical program management, including significant work on complex, high-visibility enterprise technology initiatives.
  • Solid technical understanding of AI and ML delivery lifecycles, generative AI prompt and evaluation workflows, agent architectures, and cloud and on-prem deployment patterns.
  • Experience defining program scorecards, tracking compute and token costs, and setting up data-driven ways to show delivery progress.
  • A proven record of working across matrixed global organizations and partnering with managing directors, CIOs and second line of defense control functions.
  • Clear written and spoken communication, with the ability to explain complex technical progress and risks to executive leadership.
  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • A master's degree is preferred.
