Applications Development Sr Programmer Analyst

Description

The company is building a new platform for its Operations Workbench team and is looking for an experienced developer to take part in hands-on implementation.

You will work as a core team member, helping deliver scalable, high-quality solutions that improve operational efficiency.

Full-time role with a base salary range of $94,300.00 to $141,500.00 at the primary location.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, test and ship code that is high quality, scalable and easy to maintain.
• Encourage good engineering practice across coding, testing, builds, deployment and upkeep of the software.
• Contribute to system design and write code yourself.
• Take part in sprint planning and backlog refinement, giving technical input on backlog items.
• Build robust, efficient solutions that follow strong engineering principles.
• Work with the Scrum Master, Product Owner, QA, architects and other team members across regions to deliver solutions and reusable components.
• Engage with business, operations and production support stakeholders to understand their needs and deliver useful solutions.
• Track current development practices in the industry and within the company, and bring suitable ones into the team, such as Gen AI and DORA metrics.

Requirements

• 5+ years of hands-on software development experience.
• Experience working in an Agile or Scrum environment.
• Experience working in mixed, virtual and diverse teams.
• Backend development with Java and modern IoC frameworks such as Spring Boot.
• Frontend development with React or Angular.
• Strong working knowledge of JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML and CSS.
• Expert-level ability to design and build robust, scalable applications.
• Strong experience with cloud-native technologies such as Kubernetes and Docker.
• Experience with event-driven architecture using Apache Kafka.
• Experience designing and building databases on an RDBMS platform.
• Skill in API development and application security practices such as OAuth, TLS and PKI.
• Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• Enthusiasm for adopting new technologies and best practices, with an exploratory approach.
• Creative ideas and a can-do attitude.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle tight deadlines and sudden priority changes.
• Willingness to ask questions, challenge the status quo and look for answers.
• Ability to work independently, juggle several tasks, take ownership and help shape strategy.
• Impeccable integrity and sound judgment.
• Desirable: experience in financial services.
• Desirable: knowledge of resilient enterprise systems.
• Bachelor's degree or university degree, or equivalent experience.
