Description

The Data Platform team builds the systems that collect, process and interpret data, so leaders can make sound decisions about products and direction.

The company is moving its current multi-part analytics setup onto one new data platform. This is a modernization and enhancement effort.

The goal is a single source of truth for digital behavioral data that supports near real-time analytics and real-time personalization.

You will work closely with the Data Analytics teams to make sure all data is captured and presented clearly enough for immediate insights.

The teams are focused and highly collaborative, and the company values sharing skills across them.

The company is a global media and entertainment business with three segments: Studios, Direct-to-Consumer, and TV Media. It owns a broad portfolio of well-known networks and streaming services.

This is a newly created position.

Responsibilities

  • Define project scope, build and maintain project plans, set release schedules, and keep delivery on time.
  • Work with engineering, product and other teams to agree on goals, priorities and technical direction.
  • Spot risks and issues across the project lifecycle, track them, reduce them, and suggest fixes before they block work.
  • Use your technical background to follow system designs, architecture choices and integration points, and advise without acting as the lead engineer.
  • Write and maintain project documents, and report status, risks and impact to stakeholders at every level.
  • Build and evolve dashboards and reporting views in tools such as Domo, Tableau or similar to track program health, KPIs and trends, and share useful findings.
  • Improve processes for reliability, efficiency and ongoing progress, using data and metrics to measure results and guide decisions.
  • Help shape long-term technical and product strategy and the roadmaps for technical teams.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of technical program management experience in a technical or cloud or SaaS setting, with a record of running complex cross-functional projects.
  • A 4-year degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical field is preferred, or equivalent work experience.
  • Working command of project management, including scope, schedule, budget and risk.
  • Exceptional skill at building relationships and communicating clearly with varied groups across the organization.
  • A solid technical background that lets you engage deeply with engineers on complex details, including how data flows from a client event to a dashboard.
  • Hands-on experience with BI tools such as Domo, Tableau or similar, including defining metrics, tracking program health, spotting trends and supporting data-driven decisions.
  • Working knowledge of SQL, with the ability to query datasets on your own, validate metrics, investigate discrepancies and turn data into program insights.
  • Working knowledge of modern data architecture, including event instrumentation, pipelines, batch and streaming, data modeling, APIs, schemas, data quality, lineage and observability. You can discuss architecture and tradeoffs with data and software engineers.
  • Experience with cloud data technologies such as AWS, Snowflake, Databricks, Kafka/Kinesis, Spark, Airflow or comparable platforms.
  • Familiarity with data quality, SLAs/SLOs, monitoring, incident management, privacy, access controls, metadata, lineage and data governance.

Conditions

The base salary range is $85,700.00 - $137,100.00 per year.

Actual pay depends on factors such as location, external market data, internal equity, skills, experience, training, education and/or performance.

Base pay is one part of total compensation.

Benefits

  • Annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards may be available.
  • Health insurance, a wellness program, life and disability insurance, and a retirement savings plan.
