Description

You will be a team lead level designer on the Splinter Cell remake at the company Toronto studio, working with the Project Lead and Production Manager to keep level design quality high, direction clear and deliveries on schedule. You will coach level designers, help set and reinforce design standards, and weigh creative goals against production planning, while also building levels yourself when the project needs it.

The company makes games across many teams worldwide, including Assassin's Creed and Rainbow Six. This is an open role, not a general talent pool, and the final base salary depends on the interview process and factors such as experience, skills, scope, location and internal equity. Total pay may also include variable pay or benefits where they apply.

Responsibilities

  • Set and communicate level design quality standards by pointing to patterns and examples that give players a strong experience
  • Coach and mentor level designers by explaining the reasoning behind design choices so they learn to think for themselves, not copy
  • Share knowledge across the team through clear instructions, useful feedback and shared best practices
  • Plan, prioritise, assign and track tasks, setting realistic estimates based on each person's strengths and what the work needs
  • Balance creative goals against production constraints so planning and delivery stay reliable
  • Review individual work and give actionable feedback before it goes to core leadership
  • Work closely with production to spot risks early, raise concerns clearly and help solve problems
  • Represent the level design team in talks with project leadership and other disciplines
  • Lead bug fixing and polish work on level design content
  • Help with onboarding and hiring to keep the team cohesive and effective

Requirements

  • Strong collaboration and communication skills, with confidence working across disciplines
  • Experience leading people, including coaching designers at different experience levels
  • Sound design judgment and a structured, logical approach to making level design decisions
  • Planning and estimation skills that lead to predictable production results
  • Ability to give thoughtful feedback and evaluations that help others grow
  • Adaptability and openness when guiding designers through new constraints or approaches
  • Knowledge of real-time constraints, 3D engines and level editing tools
  • Experience with production tracking tools such as JIRA, Perforce or similar systems
  • Experience on third-person camera games or titles with slower, investigative gameplay
  • Send your CV highlighting relevant skills and experience
  • Send examples of completed levels, shipped projects or other work showing your level design expertise and leadership impact

Conditions
