Description

The company is hiring a Tanium engineer to work on the Department of the Air Force's Enterprise Information Technology as a Service (EITaaS) program.

The ideal hire has deep experience with information systems and strong command of Tanium, including core modules and add-ons.

EITaaS delivers enterprise ITSM, service desk work, endpoint management and security, CONUS/OCONUS field support, and full life cycle upkeep of end user devices.

This engineering work helps the Air Force shift from IT-centred operations to mission-focused ones, with better agility, reliability and security across the enterprise.

Responsibilities

  • Set up, configure and maintain platform and endpoint agents.
  • Plan and carry out upgrades, patches and maintenance for the Tanium platform and its modules.
  • Watch platform health, performance and security, and fix infrastructure problems before they grow.
  • Tune the platform so it scales well and uses resources efficiently.
  • Write and update documentation covering configurations, procedures and integrations.
  • Build and maintain policies that support security and operational targets.
  • Automate tasks and workflows to save time and cut manual work.
  • Build Tanium sensors and packages that gather data, push software and enforce settings.
  • Create custom reports and dashboards that turn Tanium data into actionable insight.
  • During security incidents, supply endpoint data, help contain threats quickly and automate remediation.
  • Implement and manage the rollout of Tanium Provisioning.

Requirements

  • Hold CompTIA Security+ or another DoD-approved 8570 baseline certification at IAT Level II or higher.
  • Have 10+ years of relevant experience; a bachelor's degree in a relevant field can replace 5 years of it.
  • Hold an active DoD Secret clearance.
  • Be proficient with Tanium core modules and add-ons such as Discover, Patch, Comply, Provision and Threat Response.
  • Script well in Python, PowerShell and shell scripting.
  • Understand Windows and Linux operating systems well.
  • Understand network protocols and security concepts.
  • Communicate clearly in writing and speaking, and be able to influence and explain policies and procedures to people both inside and outside your function.
  • Work effectively in a fast-paced, highly complex setting where requirements often change.
  • Desired: experience with ServiceNow.
  • Desired: additional certifications such as PMP or Tanium Certified Operator or Administrator.
  • Desired: experience implementing and optimizing cloud-based UEM solutions.
  • Desired: experience with DOD, DOW or federal agencies.
