The team is an engineering organization of about 10 technical leaders in E100 roles. The position is split roughly 80/20 between hands-on program and capture work and the functional management of that homeroom.

For the first year, your main non-functional assignment is serving as Staffing Lead for the business unit.

Responsibilities

  • Develop those leaders through coaching, mentoring, talent pipeline work, engagement and knowledge sharing.
  • Plan staffing, track retention and forecast workloads for the frontline organization.
  • Manage indirect budgets, run general administration and lead process improvements for the organization.
  • Help the department manager keep planning, technical baselines, cost and schedule control, metrics and issue resolution consistent across engineering execution.
  • Work with other leaders to allocate resources across programs and balance competing demands from a varied business base.
  • Work with discipline engineers to share best practices and speed up adoption of sector standards.
  • Take on technical scope when needed, such as SEIT, chief engineer, EPM, IPT or CAM roles, or leading a task order, project or study.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in science, technology, engineering or mathematics plus 8+ years of experience, or a master's degree in one of those fields plus 6+ years of experience.
  • Previous leadership or management experience.
  • Professional experience in SIGINT, cyber (offensive or defensive), non-kinetic work, cryptography or a related mission area.
  • Demonstrated technical leadership as SEIT/EPM, chief engineer, IPT lead, system architect or an equivalent role across capture or program lifecycle phases.
  • Working knowledge of program execution, technical baseline management, staffing, engineering metrics, and the training resources, processes and tools that support them.
  • Experience leading diverse technical teams spread across multiple locations.
  • Skill in technical problem solving, including root cause analysis and solution development.
  • Current or active U.S. Government Top Secret/SCI clearance.
  • Ability to work onsite full-time at or near a location with a significant presence of the business unit, including Annapolis Junction MD, Roy UT, Cincinnati OH, Sacramento CA or Chantilly VA.
  • Ability to lead in line with company values and leadership behaviors.
  • Preferred: active DoD Top Secret/SCI with SAP/SAR.
  • Preferred: advanced knowledge or experience in SIGINT, cyber (offensive or defensive), non-kinetic work, cryptography or a related mission area.
  • Preferred: experience using AI tools and processes to improve efficiency, quality or scale.
