Fabrication Programmer

Description

The company makes display cases, specialty products, refrigeration systems, power systems and related services, with glass doors and intelligent merchandising technology for food retail.

The team works closely with customers, and those relationships matter as much to the company as the equipment it builds.

Responsibilities

• Write programs for individual parts and build nests in JetCAM and NC Express.
• Administer and use the DMM ordering system.
• Check new parts and maintain the parts library.
• Look for practical ways to cut material waste.
• Troubleshoot programming and DMM problems.
• Decide the routing for new parts.
• Pass IT needs to the IT department and follow them through.
• Report issues and upgrade needs to the software support teams.
• Run existing OTC and production reports.
• Cover weekend programming support on a rotating schedule.
• Report the status of assigned projects to supervisors.
• Take on other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• A high school diploma or GED is required.
• An associate degree in computer science or programming is preferred.
• Extensive experience with PCs.
• Strong working knowledge of Windows and power-user skills in MS Office.
• Ability to read blueprints.
• Knowledge of metal punching, shearing, laser and brake work, gained by operating forming equipment and programming it.
• 5 or more years of CAD programming or nesting software experience is preferred.
• May be required to stand, bend, lift, push, pull, squat or kneel.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs, with or without mechanical aids, on a recurring basis.
• Comfortable working in a production setting with temperature changes, hazardous chemicals, mechanical parts, higher noise levels and dust.
