Description

You will join an experienced, cross-disciplinary team that builds distinct systems to meet demanding requirements on air refueling programs.

The work centers on the company's next-generation aerial refueling and mobility aircraft for the U.S. Air Force. You will help ensure its complex systems, including aerial refueling, avionics, flight controls, communications and mission systems, are integrated, tested and delivered on schedule.

The role combines systems engineering practice, airplane systems knowledge and hands-on integration and test operations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead integration of hardware and software at both the airplane and system level for the mission and refueling systems.
  • Lead requirements definition, management, validation and verification across the program, including traceability.
  • Coordinate with systems engineering, integrated product teams, design, test and customer groups so work is right the first time.
  • Use your knowledge of airplane systems, such as avionics, refueling, electrical power, hydraulics, environmental controls and flight controls, to support design, integration and troubleshooting.
  • Write and maintain the Concept of Operations, operational documents and system use cases.
  • Plan and run ground and flight test campaigns, including writing test procedures, leading readiness reviews and analyzing results afterward.
  • Apply model-based systems engineering methods, such as SysML and Cameo, to record engineering outcomes.
  • Staff test and operations consoles during lab, ground and flight test events.
  • Lead troubleshooting, root cause analysis and corrective action for system integration problems.
  • Work with avionics, communications, refueling, flight controls and mission systems engineers to keep systems integrating smoothly.
  • Contribute to design reviews, safety reviews and certification activities.
  • Improve integration processes, maintainability and operability of the systems.
  • Guide technical discussions, align stakeholders and hold people accountable across disciplines.
  • Communicate with engineering, program management, customers and leadership through clear technical writing, presentations and quick decisions in real time.

Requirements

  • You must be a U.S. citizen able to obtain and keep a Secret clearance after start.
  • You need a bachelor's degree in engineering, engineering technology (including manufacturing technology), computer science, data science, mathematics, physics or chemistry, or a non-U.S. equivalent directly related to the work.
  • You must be a U.S. Person under 22 C.F.R. §120.62 to meet export control rules. This includes U.S. citizens, U.S. nationals, lawful permanent residents, refugees and asylees.
  • Experience level: 2 or more years of related work for Level 3, 5 or more years for Level 4, or 9 or more years for Level 5. A mix of education and experience can count toward these levels.
  • The company will not sponsor applicants for employment visa status.
  • Preferred: experience integrating complex systems.
  • Preferred: strong written and verbal communication, with a record of leading technical discussions.
  • Preferred: experience with military aircraft development, integration or sustainment.
  • Preferred: knowledge of air-to-air refueling systems.
  • Preferred: understanding of systems safety, reliability and airworthiness certification processes.
  • Preferred: familiarity with lab integration environments (HIL/SIL) and simulation-based testing.
  • Preferred: current or previous DoD Secret clearance, or the ability to obtain one.
  • Preferred: familiarity with requirements management tools such as DOORS or equivalents.
  • Preferred: working knowledge of model-based systems engineering, such as SysML and Cameo.
  • Preferred: programmatic or operational experience with USAF Tankers.
  • Preferred: experience with aircraft systems, avionics or mission systems integration.
