SVP - GenAI Full-Stack Engineer Lead

Description

You will lead engineering work while staying close to the code. The role combines technical leadership with building AI-powered products and shaping how engineers work together.

You will work across the organisation to build scalable developer platforms, help set engineering strategy and bring Generative AI and current engineering methods into daily practice.

This is a full-time role in Applications Development, within the Technology job family.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and delivery of large enterprise applications that support core business functions and many users.
• Stay involved in architecture, system design, code reviews and technical decisions.
• Set technical direction across frontend, backend, APIs, cloud services and platform components.
• Work with senior technology and business leaders to line up platform strategy with company priorities.
• Deliver high-visibility programmes that are critical to the business and closely watched by senior executives.
• Promote engineering quality, DevSecOps, platform engineering and steady improvement.
• Coach engineering managers, principal engineers and senior engineers to build a culture of technical excellence and ownership.
• Push adoption of developer platforms, automation and enterprise engineering standards across several teams.

Requirements

• Proven track record of leading software engineering teams while still working hands-on with the code.
• Solid software engineering skills in modern languages and frameworks, with hands-on use of at least one of Python, Go, TypeScript, JavaScript or React.
• Experience delivering AI-enabled or Generative AI solutions in enterprise settings.
• Experience building large-scale cloud-native applications with Kubernetes, containers, microservices and event-driven architectures.
• Strong grasp of distributed systems, resiliency patterns, scalability and performance engineering.
• Strong working knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases, API design and integration patterns.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management, with the ability to shape technology decisions across many teams and organisations.
• A growth mindset and a genuine interest in mentoring, coaching and developing engineering talent.

Conditions

Hybrid working, with up to 2 days a week working from home.

Full-time contract.
