Senior Java Developer - Assistant Vice President

Responsibilities

• Run feasibility studies, produce time and cost estimates, and define scope for new application systems and programs.
• Act as the go-to Java expert, advising senior stakeholders and team members on best practices, architecture, and hard technical problems.
• Analyze complex problems, compare business and system processes against industry standards, and recommend and implement improvements.
• Design security measures during post-implementation review and make sure all solutions meet applicable laws, rules, and regulations.
• Oversee every stage of development, from analysis and design through construction, testing, and deployment.
• Build, test, and release new or changed applications that meet business needs and user requirements.
• Support users and operations, consult with users, clients, and other technology groups, and recommend advanced programming fixes.
• Make sure core procedures are followed and help define and refine development team standards and processes.
• Advise and coach junior and new developers to help them grow their skills and careers.
• Work closely with business users, product owners, and other technology teams to keep work aligned and projects delivered.
• Other job-related duties may be assigned as needed.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of professional Java development experience, with substantial work in cloud-based environments and distributed systems.
• Expert command of Java, J2EE, RESTful API design, and cloud engineering principles.
• Hands-on experience building production-grade services with Spring and Spring Boot.
• Solid experience with relational databases such as Oracle and SQL, and familiarity with NoSQL technologies such as MongoDB.
• Practical experience with cloud-native platforms such as OpenShift and Kubernetes, and with messaging technologies such as MQ and Kafka.
• A strong commitment to clean code, design patterns, and test-driven development that produces maintainable, production-ready software.
• Fluency in Agile methods and the full software development lifecycle, with hands-on experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
• Proven ability to lead technical delivery on your own, manage competing priorities, and perform well under pressure in a fast-paced setting.
• A bachelor's degree or university degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

Full-time role in the Technology group, Applications Development job family.

Primary location salary range: $94,300.00 to $141,500.00.
