Consulting Internship: Data Analysis/Data Engineering (Summer 2027)

Description

The company is a consulting firm that works with clients on technology problems, including Fortune 100 companies, mid-sized enterprises and government agencies across the country.

Elevate is a 10-week, in-person internship held at the company's Richmond, Virginia headquarters that recreates a client engagement, covering the full life cycle of a typical IT consulting project.

Interns work in self-led teams, with full-time consultants as guides and mentors, and attend weekly lunch-and-learn sessions with the leadership team.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sort data using advanced analytics.
• Design and build a relational database that supports data visualizations and analytics.
• Analyze data to define and implement key business metrics and KPIs.
• Build a dashboard for executive-level clients using a data visualization tool.
• Work with stakeholders and subject matter experts to decide how data should be structured, analyzed and displayed to meet business needs.

Requirements

• Be a current undergraduate who expects to graduate between December 2027 and May 2028 and plans to seek full-time work afterward.
• Show that you can work on your own initiative within a team.
• Experience with databases (especially SQL), datasets, ETL, Python and/or data visualization tools is helpful but not required.
• Students from any major may apply. Analytics, Computer Science, BIT and Systems Engineering majors are preferred but not required.

Conditions

Work in person in Richmond, Virginia, 40 hours a week for 10 weeks, from June 1 through August 6, 2027.

A housing stipend is provided for candidates who live more than 50 miles away.

The hourly pay is $30.

The company cannot transfer or sponsor a work visa for this role. You must already be authorized to work for any U.S. employer without visa sponsorship.

You must be able to work at the company's Richmond, Virginia office.
