Data Warehouse Developer

Description

This Data Warehouse Developer role sits in the Data Engineering department, which builds and improves high-performance data platforms that handle intra-day processing of large data streams.

The work covers the enterprise data warehouse and the data catalogue, with a mix of larger business programmes and targeted platform improvements.

The platform is fully cloud-based and uses an AI-first approach to development, testing and release, and it supports real-time decisions. Architects and developers work together on resilient data models and modern pipelines that give data consumers across the organisation quick value.

The company focuses on In-Play betting, with more than 1.38 million In-Play sporting events a year and over 750 concurrent sporting fixtures at peak. Responsibilities

• Manage and tune the Google Cloud Platform components you work with, including BigQuery, Composer, Analytics Hub and BigLake.
• Build and keep up scalable transform processes that load the central data warehouse.
• Set up and enforce sound engineering processes and architectural standards across GCP products.
• Write and maintain clear technical documentation for warehouse assets and pipelines.
• Make sure development standards and good practice are followed at every stage of the engineering lifecycle.

Requirements

• Commercial experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Deep knowledge of Google BigQuery, Cloud Composer, Analytics Hub and BigLake.
• Practical experience with AI technologies and commercial AI agents.
• Proficiency with enterprise data catalogue solutions.
• Set-based relational processing and advanced SQL query development.
• Hands-on experience with modern Data Lake and Data Warehouse architectures.
• Experience with dimensional modelling for enterprise data warehouses.
• A decisive approach to solving problems when deadlines are tight.
