This is a staff software engineer role on a platform engineering team, covering infrastructure, tooling and ML frameworks within one sub-organization or technical area.
The work spans the full software lifecycle and is tied to roadmap milestones, with a focus on developer productivity and the reliability of shared platform systems.
Responsibilities
Deliver platform capabilities such as CI/CD, SDKs, model runtimes and feature stores, using cloud-native patterns like microservices, containers and automation to make systems scalable, resilient and agile.
Own work from coding and testing through CI/CD deployment, observability, monitoring and upkeep.
Build and improve infrastructure and tooling that speeds up engineering and supports platform goals.
Build AI-driven applications and intelligent automation in languages including JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, Java, Rust, Dart and C++, and integrate AI agents and ML components that handle multi-step reasoning, using tools such as GitHub Copilot.
Apply design patterns so solutions are secure, maintainable, modular and scalable.
Lead system design reviews to check feasibility, quality and fit with project goals and architecture practices.
Align engineering work with roadmap milestones and domain priorities, and break work into well-scoped units ready to build.
Work with product and business stakeholders to turn complex user problems into concrete technical requirements.
Define and track success metrics with data-driven practices, and improve development processes.
Contribute to API design and prototypes to test solutions early, and run correction-of-error reviews to reduce repeat defects.
Mentor engineers and junior leaders, supporting their growth, psychological safety and learning through delegation, documentation, tool selection and design guidance.
Shape architectural and technical decisions toward standardization, reuse and long-term sustainability, weighing trade-offs and downstream effects.
Take ownership of deliverables and drive projects to completion, resolving issues on your own initiative.
Keep up with industry trends and share knowledge through documentation, tool evaluations and internal talks.
Communicate complex ideas clearly to technical and non-technical colleagues, and collaborate across teams.
Look for ways to improve processes, tools and products, and encourage experimentation.
Help run business plans by identifying customer and operational needs, setting priorities, removing obstacles, measuring progress and preparing contingency plans.
Support associates through selection, training, coaching, performance reviews, recognition and a team-based environment where everyone belongs.
Promote company policies, values and ethics standards, and make sure they are followed.
Check that business needs are met by reviewing plans and programs and applying feedback to improve efficiency and cost.
