Description

This Staff-level role leads documentation governance, engineering change management, and product data lifecycle work for the Engineering group.

You will support the creation, revision, and release of engineering documents, drawings, software artifacts, and Bills of Materials (BOMs) in ALM, PDM, MRP, and PLM systems.

The role also leads process, data, and business systems work, centred on evaluating, selecting, and implementing PLM 2.0 and on wider Engineering process improvement.

It draws on business systems analysis, document control, process design, and change management to improve product lifecycle processes, data quality, compliance, and cross-system traceability across Engineering and downstream teams.

You will independently lead complex cross-functional initiatives, work with senior stakeholders, and mentor others. This is part of the company's Engineering Business Systems group, not an IT solutions role.

Responsibilities

  • Create, revise, release, and maintain engineering documents, drawings, software artifacts, BOMs, and engineering change orders (ECO/ECR) in ALM, PDM, MRP, and PLM systems, keeping records compliant, traceable, and intact.
  • Lead PLM 2.0 evaluation, selection, implementation, and adoption, including requirements gathering, future-state process design, fit-gap analysis, testing, deployment, and business readiness.
  • Set up and maintain governance for product data, BOMs, master data, metadata, configuration control, and traceability across PLM, ERP, MES, QMS, and related platforms.
  • Turn business needs into scalable processes, system requirements, reporting solutions, and roadmaps that improve efficiency, compliance, and data quality.
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives from concept through implementation, covering planning, resourcing, risk management, change management, training, cutover, and stabilization after go-live.
  • Work with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Regulatory, Supply Chain, Service, IT, and global stakeholders to align priorities, resolve complex issues, and get work done.
  • Coach users and team members on document control, change management, PLM processes, business systems practice, and compliance requirements, and help write the standards.
  • Set your own priorities, deliver results with limited supervision, and escalate risks and strategic decisions when needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Systems, or a related technical field.
  • At least 15 years of relevant experience in engineering, manufacturing, business systems, or regulated product development, or at least 12 years with a Master's degree.
  • Deep knowledge of engineering document control, change management, product data governance, BOM management, traceability, and compliance.
  • Hands-on experience with PLM platforms such as Oracle Agile, Windchill, Teamcenter, or Enovia, plus related ALM, CAD/PDM, ERP, or MES systems.
  • Proven record of leading PLM implementations, migrations, process redesigns, platform consolidations, or major system enhancements.
  • Solid business systems analysis skills: requirements management, process mapping, fit-gap analysis, testing, and deployment support.
  • Working knowledge of FDA 21 CFR Part 11, FDA 21 CFR Part 820, ISO 13485, electronic records, document controls, and audit-ready quality systems.
  • Good understanding of manufacturing engineering, product development, CAD/PDM-controlled design data, Supply Chain, and Planning.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional work, influence senior stakeholders, solve complex business problems, and work independently.
  • Strong communication, facilitation, coaching, prioritization, and influence-without-authority skills.
  • Preferred: Master's degree.
  • Preferred: Oracle Cloud PLM experience.
  • Preferred: medical device experience. Aerospace or other highly regulated manufacturing backgrounds are also considered.
  • Preferred: experience with SAP S/4HANA, SAP ME, SAP MDG, Fiori, MES, ERP integrations, or enterprise business system transformations.
  • Preferred: experience with Polarion, ALM, CAD/PDM, SolidWorks, Windchill, or platforms covering requirements, design, manufacturing, quality, and V&V data.
  • Preferred: knowledge of digital thread, structured data reuse, master data governance, product data management, configuration control, and enterprise data standards.
  • Preferred: experience with analytics and reporting tools such as Tableau, Power BI, Snowflake, SAP BO/BOXI, or similar.
  • Preferred: experience running workshops, Kaizens, solution evaluations, change impact assessments, and user adoption activities.
