Description

The company runs an AI-powered product network that helps governments and businesses keep trade moving while making the global economy more resilient and secure.

The engineering team is building that platform. It is driven by AI, processes a very large volume of data and serves a varied customer base, so the system is complex and pulls engineering in many directions.

You will work with product and design, join calls with users, and lead a small team that turns hypotheses about customer pain into products people adopt. Your work is measured by customer outcomes rather than commits.

Responsibilities

  • Spend time with customers in their own workflows, notice where they stall, and turn what you learn into product bets your team will stand behind.
  • Work with the product team on what to build as well as how. Shape hypotheses about customer value, design the smallest experiment that tests them, and push back on briefs that lack evidence.
  • Take new product areas from 0 to 1: pitch, prototype, ship, and drive adoption with real users, checking whether it landed as well as whether it is maintainable.
  • Use AI as a core building block, including LLMs, agents, evals, retrieval and current AI tooling, and decide case by case where AI changes the product and where it does not.
  • Own outcomes from the first customer conversation through telemetry six months after launch, including the architecture and instrumentation that make that telemetry useful.
  • Set the technical bar by reviewing designs and code for quality, simplicity and customer impact, and reject work that cannot be linked to a customer outcome.
  • Coach engineers to talk to users, run experiments and judge a feature as finished by adoption rather than by a closed ticket.
  • Lead technical decisions toward shipping: choose practical, iterative designs, get a working version to customers quickly, then evolve it based on what you learn.

Requirements

  • You have deployed production code and services to cloud-hosted environments.
  • You have delivered incremental releases from proof of concept to MVP to production.
  • You work independently and have tackled large, complex problems.
  • You care about engineering excellence, clean code and sharing knowledge.
  • You communicate clearly in writing and in conversation.
  • You have led other engineers through complex projects.
  • You have worked with Python machine learning tools such as Numpy, Pandas and Dedupe.
  • You have worked with container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  • The team works with Python and PySpark, Docker, Git, Kubernetes, Swagger/OpenAPI, AWS/Azure, MLFlow and Celery, and stores data in Databricks and Delta Lakes.

The recruiter can share the specific pay and benefit details for this role during hiring.
