Description

The company builds an AI-native software platform that helps US manufacturers find critical suppliers and manage their supply chains with them.

The platform serves both defense (DoD) and commercial customers and aims to link local and regional suppliers with the industry and government buyers who depend on them.

The team is growing and needs a Staff Software Engineer to set technical direction while staying hands-on. This is an individual contributor role with tech lead responsibility: you make the hard architecture decisions, write production code, and help engineers around you improve.

Responsibilities

  • Lead technical design for major features and own the architecture of the ABP-based applications, including module boundaries, shared libraries, and conventions other teams rely on.
  • Write production full-stack code, taking on the hardest and least defined problems.
  • Own quality from start to finish.
  • Raise engineering standards through code review, design review, and one-on-one mentoring.
  • Define the team's.NET standards and enforce them in code review and CI.
  • Design secure systems, including for AWS GovCloud and government customer environments.
  • Own the reliability, performance, and observability of your work, and fix root causes when things fail.
  • Assess tools, frameworks, and methods, and make the final decision.
  • Plan and lead major-version upgrades of.NET and ABP across services while feature work continues.
  • Turn customer and business needs into clear technical priorities with the Director of Engineering and Product.
  • Write up decisions so the team can carry them out without you present.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of professional software engineering, with several years owning the architecture of production systems.
  • A track record of leading technical delivery across a team without formal authority.
  • 5+ years building production systems in C and ASP.NET Core, with a solid grasp of the request pipeline, dependency injection lifetimes, and async behavior, enough to debug them under load.
  • Strong experience with EF Core and PostgreSQL, including migration strategy across environments, query plans, indexing, and concurrency control.
  • Production experience with ABP Framework is strongly preferred. Deep experience with the same patterns in another.NET framework is an acceptable substitute if you can pick up ABP quickly.
  • Experience finding and fixing.NET performance problems in production using tools such as dotnet-trace, dotnet-counters, or Datadog APM.
  • Working knowledge of Angular and TypeScript, enough to ship features end to end.
  • Experience with distributed systems, AWS cloud infrastructure, containers, and CI/CD.
  • Disciplined secure coding and experience in regulated or high-assurance environments.
  • Clear written and verbal communication, with the ability to brief both engineers and executives.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a US government security clearance. Certain programs may require US citizenship.
  • Early-stage startup or SaaS experience is a plus.
  • Tech stack: C, ASP.NET Core, ABP Framework, EF Core, Angular, PostgreSQL, Kafka (Amazon MSK), Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, AWS (including GovCloud), GitLab, Datadog

Conditions

You must be authorized to work for any US employer. The company cannot sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment visa at this time.

The company is an equal opportunity employer and considers applicants regardless of protected characteristics.

Benefits

  • Full-time employees receive a competitive benefits package that includes medical, dental, and vision coverage, paid time off, company holidays, and 401K matching.
