Staff Engineer

The company makes memory and storage products, and this role sits in its DRAM design group.

The work centers on CAD tools and design flows that support DRAM design teams across the world.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily support for CAD tools, design flows and supporting materials that functional CAD teams worldwide supply to DRAM design teams.
• Enable every stage of mixed-signal, transistor-level custom IC design, including logic design, custom layout, parameterized cells, automated place and route, physical verification (LVS, DRC), ERC, parasitic extraction, pre- and post-layout netlisting and simulation, digital and analog simulation, timing and power analysis, reliability analysis (HCI, BTI, EM/IR), tapeout and mask generation.
• Work closely with DRAM design, layout and verification methodology teams to propose and co-develop EDA capabilities that vendors lack or support poorly, and apply proven methods consistently across DRAM designs worldwide.
• Lead research at the point where IC design automation meets machine learning, defining, scoping, building and delivering ML-based solutions for IC design.

Requirements

• A Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or a related field, plus 5 years of experience in this job or a related occupation.
• Experience with VLSI design.
• Experience with software programming and development.
• Experience with IC design and EDA tools.
• Experience with design verification, including DRC, LVS and parasitic extraction.
• Knowledge of CMOS circuits.
• Skill in Python, TCL and SKILL scripting.
• Experience with CAD software development and support.
