Staff Engineer

The company is replacing legacy manufacturing technology with modern, decoupled solutions that let manufacturing systems evolve.

As Staff Engineer, you will shape architecture across manufacturing technology and guide product teams toward modern, decoupled solutions. You will set technical direction, establish engineering standards and support teams designing and building complex solutions. Your work will help create a manufacturing technology landscape that supports automation, scalability and operational efficiency.

You will join manufacturing technology at the LEGO team, working with product teams and Lead Engineers who shape the technology behind manufacturing.

In your first year, you will strengthen architecture direction and technical standards across manufacturing technology. Over the following 12, 18 months, you will work closely with manufacturing product teams and Lead Engineers to build a technology landscape ready for future development and integration.

Responsibilities

• Shape future manufacturing technology landscapes that support automation, scalability and operational efficiency.
• Replace legacy manufacturing systems with modern, decoupled technologies.
• Set architecture direction across manufacturing product teams.
• Define technical standards and engineering practices for product teams.
• Guide the design and build of complex manufacturing solutions.
• Connect architecture decisions with practical implementation, and help teams build technology that can evolve.
• Coach colleagues through complex technical choices with clear communication and collaboration.

Requirements

• You have built software solutions that replaced legacy manufacturing systems with modern, decoupled technologies.
• You have set architecture standards and technical direction across manufacturing product teams.
• You have led technical design and implementation of complex solutions across product teams.
• You have worked with operational technology that supports manufacturing systems.
• Nice to have: experience advising senior IT groups in an advisory role.
• Nice to have: knowledge of PLCs and the OT area.
• Nice to have: practical experience with Industry 4.0 solutions.
