Senior KDB+ Engineer, Vice President

Description

It serves consumers, corporations, governments and institutions through consumer banking and credit, corporate and investment banking, securities brokerage, transaction services and wealth management.

This is a senior KDB+ developer role on the APAC Equities Electronic Trading team within the Equities Technology organization. The team builds and runs the analytics backbone behind the equities electronic trading product.

You will lead the design, build and delivery of business-critical high frequency, low latency systems on KDB+. These systems process market data and produce analytics from the datasets they need.

You will work with a team of developers and with product development, other technology teams, production support and quality assurance. Staying closely aligned with the global strategy matters in this role.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain business-critical high frequency and low latency systems on KDB+ that process market data and generate analytics.
• Build and maintain platforms for data management, analytics and trading, with ingestion, storage and retrieval tuned for speed.
• Work with management to bring functions together, find system improvements and roll out new products and process changes.
• Solve high-impact problems by assessing complex business and system processes. Set and maintain standards for coding, testing, debugging and deployment.
• Use the company's AI-powered development tools across the software development lifecycle to raise productivity, code quality and innovation.
• Advise and coach mid-level developers and analysts, and assign their work as needed.

Requirements

• Strong grasp of KDB+ and the Q language, with at least 5 years of professional KDB+ experience.
• 6-10 years of relevant experience in applications development or systems analysis.
• Knowledge of the FIX protocol and experience working with order and market data sets.
• Hands-on experience scaling KDB+ applications, load balancing, designing high-availability architectures, building large datasets and optimizing query performance.
• Ability to juggle several tasks, set goals and hit deadlines.
• Bachelor's degree or university degree, or equivalent experience.
• Preferred: background in markets electronic trading or market making.

Conditions

Full-time position based in Jersey City, New Jersey, United States, with a base salary range of $142,320.00 - $213,480.00.
