Description

The company's engineering product development group handles the design and release of vehicle systems, components and parts, from first concept through production. Its work covers building and upkeep of vehicle engineering bills of material, managing part definitions and attributes, running design changes and releases, keeping product data accurate and traceable, and working with engineering, manufacturing, purchasing, suppliers and other functions on vehicle programs.

The PLM IT team behind this group is hiring a senior Teamcenter engineer to be the main link between engineering business stakeholders and technical delivery teams. The company is consolidating legacy systems into Siemens Teamcenter. You will turn business needs into scalable structures for products, vehicle engineering BOMs and part management, and work with architects, developers, data migration staff and delivery partners so configurations, data models, integrations and module rollouts fit those needs. The goal is a modern PLM base for accurate product definition, efficient design and release, strong data governance and steady adoption across vehicle programs.

Responsibilities

  • Run workshops with engineering and business teams to learn their data structures, change cycles and variant needs, then turn them into clear technical specifications.
  • Design end-to-end solutions for multi-level product BOMs, variant configurations, effectivity controls and the link between engineering BOMs (eBOM) and design BOMs (dBOM).
  • Decide which Teamcenter standard features to use as they are and where customization is needed, and map business objects, attributes and relationships for the technical team to build in BMIDE.
  • Work closely with the established PLM technical lead and development team, supplying functional requirements, structural wireframes and business logic for custom development.
  • Design the functional flow of engineering change management, making sure workflow templates and access managers follow business compliance rules.
  • Lead user acceptance testing (UAT), confirm that deployments match the original business intent, and lead functional troubleshooting.
  • Own business process models, functional and non-functional user stories and product backlogs, from project definition through to production handover.
  • Work directly with business stakeholders to build and run full UAT and training plans so application transitions go smoothly.
  • Lead workshops with end users on your own, using probing questions to draw out detailed process discussions and map complex process flow diagrams.

Requirements

  • 5-7 years of experience in a relevant business setting, focused on Siemens Teamcenter PLM solution architecture, deployment and hands-on environment configuration.
  • Bachelor's degree, ideally in a technical field such as mechanical engineering, computer science or management information systems, or equivalent experience.
  • Hands-on skill installing, patching, tuning and configuring multi-tier Teamcenter environments (web, enterprise and FMS/FSC tiers).
  • Solid grasp of vehicle program lifecycles, component tracking and variant-rich configuration management (options and features).
  • Strong knowledge of automotive product lifecycles, configuration management and large-scale Teamcenter enterprise transformations.
  • BMIDE configuration and data modeling.
  • Business objects, properties, LOVs, relationships and revision rules.
  • Teamcenter OOTB configuration and customization.
  • ITK and SOA development.
  • Workflow and change management, including workflow templates, signoffs, task handlers and access managers.
  • Active Workspace and RAC.
  • Teamcenter services: TcSS, FMS, microservices, web and enterprise tiers.
  • Teamcenter Deployment Center and environment deployments.
  • Dispatcher, indexing, search and cacheless architecture.
  • Teamcenter performance, scalability and troubleshooting.
  • Preferred: lead and coach team members, setting priorities and building an accountable, high-performing culture.
  • Preferred: experience with large PLM migrations, legacy data strategy, system decommissioning and global user rollouts.
  • Preferred: proven ability to run high-visibility meetings and end-user sessions on your own, using probing questions to get clear requirements.
  • Preferred: disciplined planning of your own output and of team sprint velocity.
  • Preferred: proactive in executing tasks, building functional blueprints, debugging environment configurations and finishing projects.
  • Preferred: strong risk management, flagging system bottlenecks, downstream ERP data gaps or design gaps early.
  • Preferred: able to explain complex Teamcenter dependencies for executive review with little or no direction.
