Sr. Staff Software Engineer (CUDA/GPU)

Description

The company's Space Sector is hiring a Sr. Staff Software Engineer (Level 6) for its Western Region Software Engineering Directorate. The role is onsite in Redondo Beach, CA.

Relocation assistance may be available. A Secret clearance is required to start, and travel is 10% of the time.

The position depends on the company winning program award(s), securing customer and/or business funding, and holding final clearances before the start date.

The company is a long-running aerospace business with a history of major flight and defense programs, and it works in multidisciplinary teams that move quickly through lab-based development cycles.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, document, integrate, test and debug software for end-user customers.
• Help with the architecture, development and lifecycle management of embedded and real-time systems.
• Work within an Agile process alongside Systems Engineering, Digital Engineering, Hardware, and Integration & Test teams.
• Examine system capabilities to find and fix problems involving program intent, output requirements, data acquisition, programming methods and control strategies.
• Keep pace with rapid development cycles in a fast-moving lab.

Requirements

• Hold a bachelor's degree in a STEM field with 14+ years of software development experience, a master's in a STEM field with 12+ years, or a Ph.D. in a STEM field with 10+ years.
• Hold an active U.S. Government Secret clearance at the time you apply.
• Be strong in C and C++ development.
• Have extensive experience with the VxWorks real-time operating system.
• Have hands-on experience with GPUs and/or CUDA (Compute Unified Device Architecture), including building, tuning or debugging GPU-accelerated applications.
• Preferred: prior experience supporting Directed Energy programs.
• Preferred: image processing experience.
• Preferred: Linux or Red Hawk Linux experience.
• Preferred: experience with low-level development.
• Preferred: experience with Curtis-Wright VPX processors.
• Preferred: experience with Acromag AcroPack interface VPX cards.
• Preferred: prior MATLAB experience.
• Preferred: experience with adaptive optics processing.

Conditions

Onsite work in Redondo Beach, CA.

Travel is 10% of the time.

The offer depends on program award(s), customer and/or business funding, and final clearances before the start date.

Base salary range is $192,800.00 to $289,200.00. Final pay depends on scope, responsibilities, experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
