Senior Bridge Engineer

Description

This is a senior technical role in which you may act as technical advisor to the team.

The company is a Fortune 500 infrastructure consultancy with revenue of $16.1 billion in fiscal year 2025 and more than 50,000 staff.

Its work spans water, environment, energy, transportation and buildings, from advisory and planning through design, engineering, and program and construction management.

It serves public and private sector clients.

Responsibilities

• Give specialist technical input to studies and designs in your own area of expertise.
• Write study and design procedures that let others produce high quality work at a reasonable cost.
• Take part in interdisciplinary reviews of project deliverables.
• Prepare construction cost estimates and estimates of the technical effort projects will need.
• Apply your expertise at every step of your discipline's part of the PS&E package.
• Run quality control checks on design calculations and drawings.
• Write technical specification sections.
• Contribute to the engineering budget and schedule so that requirements are met.

Requirements

• Mandatory: a bachelor's degree in civil or structural engineering.
• 10+ years' experience in bridge and structural engineering.
• Deep knowledge of designing and analysing reinforced concrete, prestressed concrete, steel and composite bridges.
• Advanced skill with bridge analysis and FEA software such as MIDAS Civil, SAP2000, SOFiSTiK or similar.
• Experience taking projects through several design stages, from concept to detailed design and construction support.
• Solid grasp of international design codes and sound engineering practice.
• Clear communication and the ability to work well in multidisciplinary, international teams.
• A proactive approach, good problem-solving ability, and a commitment to ongoing professional development.
• High proficiency in English, written and spoken.
• Optional, desirable: a master's degree in structural engineering or bridge engineering.
