Sr. Software Engineer - Sensor, macOS (Hybrid)

Description

The company is a cybersecurity firm that has operated since 2011 and builds an AI-native platform that protects endpoints, cloud environments, and the people and processes around them.

The platform runs on large distributed systems that handle nearly 3 trillion events per day, and that volume grows every day.

Customers come from all industries and rely on the company to keep their operations running.

The team is the macOS Sensor Foundation group, which builds core sensor components in user space using C++ and Swift for the company's endpoint protection platform.

The team builds and maintains the macOS sensor and a base layer for products and features covering prevention, detection, and response.

Responsibilities

• Design and build software that runs on macOS systems.
• Take features from first design through to release.
• Work with a multi-functional team spread across several physical locations.
• Respond to product issues that customers report and troubleshoot them.
• Take on other projects as they are assigned.

Requirements

• Write high-quality C/C++ and Swift code, and show that skill through work experience, coursework, or community projects.
• Have experience building macOS product code that handles high concurrency with heavy multi-threading.
• Have experience building macOS product code that must be highly reliable and meet strict low-level needs for memory use, performance, and conformance to external standards.
• Have experience on a team that shipped major features and releases.
• Communicate and collaborate effectively in a distributed team.
• Have proven experience using AI technologies to improve decision-making, streamline workflows and processes, raise efficiency, and drive business outcomes.
• Bonus: experience with endpoint products, cybersecurity, or networking technologies such as network security, network protocols, or network infrastructure.

Conditions

This is a hybrid role that requires 2-3 days per week on-site at one of the posted locations.

The base salary range for U.S. candidates is $140,000 - $220,000 per year. Placement in the range depends on factors including relevant work experience, skills, certifications, job level, supervisory status, and location.
