Description

The company builds AI computing platforms that span software, compilers, hardware platforms, networking, and semiconductors, and it has built a high-performance RISC-V CPU from scratch. The team is growing and welcomes contributors at every seniority level.

The Systems Engineering group handles low-level work from the ASIC up to complete systems, from pre-silicon development through production. The role centers on building software frameworks, APIs, tooling, infrastructure, and CI regression systems that test and inspect ASICs and systems, while helping teams across the company. You will work with cutting-edge ML processor architecture, board design, and debugging.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain frameworks that give access to and test systems and ASICs, defining requirements with internal customer teams.
  • Design APIs that let customer teams move their work from early test chip bring-up to mature, production-ready systems.
  • Carry out bring-up and validation of ML processors, boards, and systems, and lead debugging of issues across bring-up, validation, and production.
  • Build CI/CD pipelines that keep software deliverables reliable.
  • Review other engineers' code and mentor junior engineers.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, or a related field, plus 3+ years of relevant software development experience.
  • Strong programming skills in C, C++, and Python, and fluency in Git, including rebase and feature-branch workflows.
  • Experience with Python packaging and release flows, and with CI/CD in containerized environments using test automation tools such as doctest and pytest.
  • Strong Linux systems programming, with an understanding of operating system internals, thread-safe code, and memory management.
  • A solid grounding in computer architecture and logic design, with a good grasp of circuit and digital hardware design. You can read schematics and RTL and have debugged with lab tools such as oscilloscopes and logic or protocol analyzers, or with pre-silicon waveforms.
  • An analytical problem solver who communicates clearly, both verbally and in writing, works across functions, sees issues through to resolution, and has a basic understanding of machine learning.

Conditions

This is a hybrid role based in Toronto, Canada.

Candidates are assessed for the right level during interviews, and the offer will match that level, which may differ from the level in this posting.

If U.S. export laws make employment impossible, the offer will be withdrawn.

The company is an equal opportunity employer.
