POSITION SUMMARY

Natera is building apps and services that run inside the clinician's EHR. This is a hands-on role.

You will build SMART on FHIR apps that launch from Epic, Oracle Health (Cerner) and other

EHRs, the FHIR services and data model behind them, and CDS Hooks services that bring

Natera ordering and results into the provider's workflow. You will work in a small team with

every day.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Build and ship SMART on FHIR apps: EHR launch and standalone launch, OAuth 2.0 with

PKCE, backend services authorization, scopes and token handling.

Design and build the server side: FHIR R4 APIs, mapping to our internal data model,

profiles and extensions.

Build CDS Hooks services with prefetch that respond within EHR time limits.

Take apps through EHR vendor onboarding and go-live, starting with Epic (Vendor

Services and Showroom), then Oracle Health and others. Work with health system IT on

build and testing.

Handle PHI correctly in storage, caching, logging and tracing: minimum necessary data,

encryption, audit trails, no PHI in logs.

Work with HL7 v2 and interface engine flows where the EHR needs them.

Write design docs, review code and mentor engineers.

Be on call for what you ship.
