Sr. Software Engineer - Cloud Security

The engineering team works on Zero Trust segmentation with a stack that covers operating systems, distributed applications, and UI and visualization tools.

Responsibilities

• Build containerized microservices for a distributed, multi-tenant system that processes data, real-time events, and network telemetry from several public clouds.
• Deliver real-time insights, visibility, and security recommendations that help customers find and reduce cloud risk.
• Design your services, settle the details, defend the architecture to your peers, and ship a solid implementation.
• Mentor junior engineers, new grads, and interns so they grow and contribute to the team.
• Write most of your code in Go and work with data pipelines using SQL or other interfaces.
• Run Kubernetes-based service infrastructure.
• Own critical features and subsystems across the full development lifecycle, from clarifying requirements to customer adoption.
• Support the systems you build in production, learning first-hand what makes software easier to run.
• Own code quality through early developer testing and functional and integration testing.
• Work with Product Management to review and sharpen requirements so they exceed customer expectations.
• Build a deep understanding of customer problems through conversations with stakeholders and peers.

Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in computer science or an equivalent field.
• 4+ years building distributed, scalable software and systems.
• Passion for software development, a drive to keep learning and track new technology, and comfort working in a team.
• Extensive hands-on experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP at the API or programming level.
• Experience with Go and SQL.
• Experience using REST APIs as a client.
• General knowledge of TCP/IP networking.
• Experience with Unix or Linux programming environments.
• Experience delivering containerized services is desired, since the platform runs on Kubernetes.
• Backgrounds in other languages and stacks are welcome if you are willing to learn.
• A master's degree is a plus.
• Experience with networking and security controls is a plus.
• CloudFormation, Terraform, and Ansible are nice to have.

Conditions

This is a full-time, on-site role five days a week at the Sunnyvale, CA headquarters.

The role involves software and technology subject to U.S. export controls, and any offer depends on your ability to work in compliance with those controls.
