Description

Senior software engineer role at the company, based at 1375 Crossman Avenue, Sunnyvale, CA 94089.

You will work in small engineering groups on assigned projects, from the discovery phase of larger efforts through to delivery and support of production systems.

Responsibilities

  • Help shape high-level designs during discovery by working with product management, project management, business and user experience teams, and secure approval from each function.
  • Review project requirements and turn them into technical solutions, collecting inputs such as design documents, product requirements and wireframes.
  • Write and build code, run unit tests, and fix bugs and open issues so work is delivered on schedule and handed off cleanly.
  • Give input to the project manager on the project plan, and keep team members and stakeholders updated on status and problems.
  • Work with the project team and other functions, and offer short and long term options and timelines for proposed solutions.
  • Review proposed solutions, and perform design and code reviews of changes.
  • Investigate business and production issues: gather information, bring in support teams, build and carry out an action plan, interpret results, and run root cause analysis to prevent repeats. Record the work in online documentation.
  • Answer user questions and concerns, propose short and long term fixes, and help get them resolved.
  • Keep your technical knowledge current, and guide others on best practices. Build relationships with key stakeholders, identify business needs, and push for process improvements while adapting to shifting priorities and organizational changes.
  • Follow company policies, procedures, values and ethics standards, and help others apply them in their daily work. Use the open door policy when needed.

Requirements

  • Either a master's degree or equivalent in computer science, engineering (any discipline) or a related field, plus 2 years of experience in large scale enterprise software development.
  • Or a bachelor's degree or equivalent in computer science, engineering (any discipline) or a related field, plus 5 years of experience in large scale enterprise software development.
  • Experience designing and building REST API web services in Java.
  • Experience with unit and functional testing frameworks, including JUnit and Mockito.
