Description

The company builds software-defined vehicles and controls both in-vehicle and cloud software for fleet management, logistics and energy optimization.

The company is hiring in Silicon Valley and Austin for this role, which centers on commercial fleet platforms built to run at scale.

This Engineering Manager role leads the team that builds, grows and maintains the commercial eCommerce platform.

Responsibilities

  • Set and drive the technical roadmap for the commercial eCommerce platform.
  • Turn business and functional needs into solid, reliable systems, and assess new technologies as they emerge.
  • Own delivery from scoping through to fixing production issues, across product catalog, billing and payments.
  • Grow and mentor a full-stack engineering team, and build a strong engineering culture.
  • Work with Product Management, Design and Business leaders to deliver platform services that let product teams launch and monetize quickly.
  • Run cross-functional meetings to resolve issues and guide design discussions tied to program milestones.
  • Stay hands-on: shape designs and architecture, review code and lead incident post-mortems.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in software development, product building or a similar field.
  • 3+ years in engineering management, with a record of hiring strong people, developing their careers and building high-performing teams.
  • Experience leading highly technical teams through the SDLC using accepted best practices.
  • Strong design skills for fault-tolerant, event-driven systems where data integrity matters most, including idempotent APIs, ordered messaging, event sourcing or durable logs, and at-least-once or effectively-once delivery.
  • Deep experience connecting core services with external systems such as payment processors, tax automation tools and enterprise ERPs.
  • Experience setting strict SLIs and SLOs for mission-critical financial paths and delivering measurable operational gains, such as automated reconciliation, faster closes or zero-loss settlement.
  • Comfort bridging digital software, regulated hardware and complex physical operations, thriving in ambiguity and making pragmatic architecture trade-offs under tight audit and launch limits.
  • BS in CS, CE or EE, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Preferred: 5+ years in engineering management.
  • Preferred: MS or PhD in CS, CE or EE, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Preferred: 3+ years building commercial platforms (catalog, subscription or usage billing, payments, reporting) under strict compliance and audit rules such as PCI-DSS and SOX.
  • Preferred: experience working with Business and Sales teams and understanding enterprise customer journeys, which is a big plus.
