Software Engineer III

Description

The team builds and runs distributed software for processing product data at large scale, including real-time pipelines and related reporting and analytics.

This is a Software Engineer III role.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop distributed software applications that are high-performance and scalable.
• Build RESTful and GraphQL web services that are highly available, highly scalable and high throughput, processing large volumes of product data.
• Build real-time streaming data pipelines.
• Make applications faster and more scalable using concurrency, multi-threading, multi-tier caching, distributed caching and asynchronous I/O.
• Develop multi-tenant, robust, highly performant and highly scalable applications.
• Build fault-tolerant, highly available distributed applications that process data in real time and provide reporting and analytics.
• Write code and configurations for multiple environments and manage release processes.
• Create and maintain environment configurations and controls, keep code integrity intact, and work closely with the team.

Requirements

• Either a Master's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Software Engineering or a related area, or a Bachelor's degree or equivalent in one of those areas plus 2 years of experience in software engineering or a related field.
• Experience building scalable backend web services.
• Experience with NoSQL data stores, including Cassandra, MongoDB and Hive.
• Experience with object-oriented programming in Python and Java.
• Experience applying design patterns.
• Experience with messaging and streaming technologies.
• Experience designing and building scalable REST APIs and GraphQL endpoints.
• Experience with client-server architecture.
• Experience with unit testing and integration testing.
• Experience designing and testing relational database management systems.
• The employer will accept any amount of experience that meets the required skills.

Conditions

The base salary range is $117,000 per year to $234,000 per year.

Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance incentives.
