Description

Cogent is an applied AI lab building AI agents for cybersecurity. Attackers now use AI to move faster and at greater scale, and the company's AI Taskforce reviews large volumes of enterprise data to fix problems before serious breaches happen.

The company combines frontier research with production work. Cogent Research, its applied AI lab, supplies the research needed for agentic security workflows.

Cogent has grown quickly since leaving stealth and works with Fortune 500 companies to protect complex production environments. It is backed by Greylock.

The team includes people from universities such as Stanford, Berkeley, Penn, Duke, Carnegie Mellon and Waterloo, from high-growth firms such as Scale AI, Databricks, Stripe, Tesla and Coinbase, from security companies such as Wiz, Abnormal AI and Zscaler, and from ML research labs such as DeepMind and SAIL.

The company is building its marketing team and is hiring as one of the early members of product marketing. You will shape how Cogent stands out in a crowded market, writing clear, specific content for security practitioners rather than generic B2B copy. You will create battlecards, competitive intelligence, sales enablement, product and solution pages, and launch content that turn product differences into proof and tools that help close enterprise deals. The role has room to grow as the function expands.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and refine positioning for new products and capabilities within the core Cogent narrative.
  • Tailor the Cogent story for different audiences, including partners and media.
  • Write product pages, solution pages, datasheets, blog posts and whitepapers that security practitioners will read.
  • Lead tier 1 launches from start to finish: internal readiness, stakeholder alignment, release messaging, web updates and enablement.
  • Bring tier 2 and tier 3 capabilities to market regularly to keep momentum going.
  • Run the day-to-day competitive program: track vendors and gather product insights, documentation and demos.
  • Keep battlecards current and ready for the field.
  • Make sure sales has the latest market understanding and knows how to use it.
  • Turn win and loss patterns into objection handling and sales plays.
  • Build and maintain solution briefs, one-pagers and inputs for demo storylines.
  • Work with sales to identify friction points and find ways to resolve them.
  • Support proofs of concept and technical evaluations with guides, operationalization documents and ROI or value frameworks.
  • Use AI to speed up drafts, variants and repurposed content without lowering accuracy or quality.

Requirements

  • 4 to 7+ years in B2B product marketing with cybersecurity domain expertise.
  • Excellent writing that is clear, specific and credible to security practitioners.
  • Strong verbal communication, with the ability to present well to sales, product and customers.
  • High output and initiative, working fast, responding quickly and driving your own work.
  • A high standard for your own work.
  • Nice to have: experience in vulnerability management, exposure management, ASM/CAASM, or AppSec and CloudSec adjacencies.
  • Nice to have: hands-on competitive intelligence experience sourcing products, documentation and demos.
  • Nice to have: experience supporting technical evaluations, POCs and security review processes.
