Description

The company makes AI and ERP software for local and state governments in the U.S., and more than 2,000 cities, counties, state agencies, school districts and special districts use its platform. Its product line covers asset management, procurement and contracts, accounting and budgeting, billing and revenue, permitting and licensing, and open data, all brought together in one ERP.

This is a senior role leading field marketing: you own the full field program, its budget and its team, and you are accountable for the pipeline and ROI it produces. The role runs 150-200 events a year, includes the company Conference and the user group program, and combines ABM, portfolio management, people leadership and P&L responsibility.

Responsibilities

  • Set the annual field marketing strategy in line with company revenue targets and market priorities.
  • Choose which of the 150-200+ possible events to run each year, and write a business case for each based on target account density, market size and expected return.
  • Divide the budget across events, staff, collateral, technology and team, and track spend so the portfolio delivers positive ROI.
  • Own the field pipeline total and ROI. Set targets for each event and for the whole portfolio, then adjust based on the data.
  • Run the company Conference from start to finish: registration, ticketing, content, sponsors, attendee engagement and follow-up.
  • Design the user group and roundtable program, deciding how often they meet, on what topics, where, and how to engage members.
  • Make sure the flagship events feed pipeline, customer advocacy and market presence.
  • Manage a team of field marketers: set expectations, coach, give feedback, build their skills and hold them accountable for results.
  • Hand event ownership to your team and guide them while they execute.
  • Work with Operations and Finance on budget, hiring and team tools.
  • Tie every event to ABM strategy: pick target accounts by product and region, plan pre-event outreach, and run post-event follow-up campaigns.
  • Align field strategy and execution with Growth Marketing, Product, Sales and Sales Development.
  • Use AI and marketing automation, including Claude, MCPs and marketing platforms, to scale pre-event targeting, post-event sequences and demand generation.
  • Review each event after it ends: ROI, pipeline contribution, attendee quality, follow-up conversion and SDR handoffs. Apply what you learn to later events.
  • Present field performance and strategic recommendations to leadership each quarter, and use event and market insight to shape GTM strategy.
  • Work with Sales, Product Marketing, Growth Marketing, Product and Finance on targeting and event execution.
  • Represent field marketing in leadership meetings and bring field insight into overall GTM decisions.
  • Work with outside vendors such as event organizers, caterers and logistics providers, and negotiate contracts that protect ROI.

Requirements

  • You have 7+ years in field marketing, event marketing or ABM, ideally in B2B SaaS at a fast-growing company running large event portfolios.
  • You have a record of running and improving portfolios of 20+ events a year for pipeline and ROI.
  • You have led teams, developed people and held them accountable.
  • You can build budgets, track ROI and cut spend where it does not pay off across a portfolio.
  • You know ABM well, including account segmentation and target account marketing.
  • You have hands-on experience with Salesforce, marketing automation platforms and analytics tools.
  • You are proficient with event marketing platforms and CRM systems.
  • You are comfortable using Claude and marketing MCPs to scale field execution and demand generation.
  • You think strategically: you can build field strategy, write business cases and measure impact.
  • You have executive presence and can influence stakeholders, present to leadership and shape decisions.
  • You are driven by owning pipeline numbers and measuring ROI.
  • You are willing and able to travel regularly to field events.
  • Nice to have: experience owning user conferences or signature events.
  • Nice to have: experience building user groups and community programs.
  • Nice to have: budget management and P&L accountability for a marketing function.
  • Nice to have: experience building and managing event marketing teams.
  • Nice to have: understanding of government or public sector marketing.
