Description

The company has operated in commerce for more than 25 years and serves consumers and businesses in about 200 markets.

It runs a global two-sided network of hundreds of millions of merchants and consumers, supporting payments online and in person.

Its own payment solutions handle payments on its platform, and customers can pay from bank accounts, account balances, cards, certain cryptocurrencies, and stored value products.

The team owns risk decisioning, which drives customer protection and global commerce in real time.

This Senior Lead Product Manager role sets product direction for a risk domain made up of many strategies that span several strategy leaders.

You will work with risk strategy leaders to set the domain's multi-year vision and strategy, choose where to invest, and turn goals like loss reduction, approval rates, and customer experience into product plans.

You will help shape the next-generation Risk Decisioning Platform.

In the near term, you will move strategies off legacy systems and scale them to full production. Later, you will launch new strategies and use experimentation and automation to keep improving them.

You will lead cross-functional pods, track captured savings with business partners, present the domain to executives, and mentor other product managers.

You bring deep risk domain knowledge, technical fluency, and executive presence.

Responsibilities

  • Set product strategy with cross-functional stakeholders in line with the shared vision for the product or enabling platform.
  • Plan and deliver the architecture roadmap, balancing innovative design, technical implementation, regulatory requirements, time to market, customer needs, and profitability.
  • Evaluate customer experience and customer needs when writing product requirements and making decisions.
  • Set up ways to collect data on the metrics that show whether products succeed, including usability studies, research, and market analysis.
  • Lead workstreams in analytics, customer discovery, market research, and competitive analysis to support data-driven decisions.
  • Own product profitability measures, including budget.
  • Plan operating routines that drive execution and accountability, including product, operating, and business reviews. Work with product and technology leaders as needed.
  • Partner with content strategists, data scientists, product designers, and user experience researchers.
  • Work efficiently in a constantly changing environment where processes are fluid and creative solutions are expected.

Requirements

  • At least 8 years of relevant experience and a bachelor's degree, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Conditions

Preferred: significant experience building products in fraud, account integrity, credit, or other risk domains, working closely with risk strategy leaders.

Preferred: a record of setting a multi-year product vision and strategy for a business domain, balancing near-term delivery with longer-term bets.

Preferred: experience leading product for a multi-team risk portfolio with business owners and reporting outcomes to executives.

Preferred: deep knowledge of how risk decisions are made and tuned, including rules, ML models, features, step-up and friction treatments, and the trade-off between loss and customer experience.

Preferred: strong quantitative skills to define and interpret risk metrics such as loss, catch, false positive, and approval rates, rank opportunities across a portfolio, and link product changes to business impact.

Preferred: experience launching through controlled rollouts and experiments, including champion/challenger tests and staged traffic ramps.

Preferred: experience shaping platform roadmaps from the business side, turning domain needs into clear priorities for data science, modeling, and platform teams, and resolving competing demands.

Preferred: experience leading major platform transitions, such as moving risk strategies off legacy systems while protecting performance.

Preferred: experience mentoring product managers and creating repeatable product practices.

Preferred: ability to influence executives and drive milestone-based delivery across many teams.
