Description

The company has been making fluid-handling equipment since 1892 and supplies loading and unloading systems for bulk products, railcar and tank-truck valves, gauging and tank-monitoring systems, automated storage-terminal controls, and regulators, valves, vaporizers and piping for cryogenics and industrial gases.

The company employs more than 2,000 people, runs manufacturing in North America, Europe and China, and has sales offices worldwide. It is part of the Clean Energy & Fueling segment of its parent group.

This role owns the product line for the company's data center offering, covering definition, placement, promotion and pricing, along with profit and loss responsibility for the products in the market.

You will find market pain points and efficiency gaps that the engineering team can solve, then turn them into stage-gate deliverables such as business cases, product marketing requirements, functional specifications and white papers.

You will work with the market development, engineering, manufacturing, project and finance leads, make the day-to-day calls for the product line, and keep decisions aligned with the annual and strategic plans in monthly business reviews.

Responsibilities

  • Live the company's core values: respect people, work as a collaborative entrepreneur, put customers first, deliver results, and hold high ethical standards with openness and trust.
  • Set the 36-month product line strategy for the business unit and own the technology and product roadmaps.
  • Join market working groups and industry events.
  • Track macro market trends, pain points and competitor moves, and write up product value propositions.
  • Build economic-value estimates, return-on-investment calculators and pricing models.
  • Find and document market opportunities for products, and drive the stage-gate development and launch process.
  • Measure product success by tracking revenue vitality after release.
  • Set go-to-market strategy, plan and pricing, and work with the marketing communications team to tell the product value story.
  • Train the sales team on products and the market, and work with channel partners to place and promote new products.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in engineering (mechanical, fluids or hydraulics) or equivalent experience.
  • Product management certification or equivalent.
  • At least 5 years of product management experience, including product development, pricing, promotion and placement.
  • Experience with the data center ecosystem, such as hyperscalers, colocation providers, enterprises, chip makers, cooling system makers, or manifold and infrastructure makers for liquid cooling or building water.
  • New product development experience, including stage-gate development and go-to-market work.
  • Experience with agile development and with leveled status tracking and reporting.
  • Use market analytics, financial models and measurable customer feedback to make decisions.
  • Prepare annual plan goals based on current positions and investment, and run competitive price analysis.
  • Communicate well verbally, in writing and in presentations, and collaborate across teams.
  • Negotiate with stakeholders to reach the best outcome, and hold people accountable.
  • Set priorities and juggle several tasks, act quickly and follow through consistently.
  • Influence others with data-based arguments.
  • Preferred: experience with data center projects or customers.
  • Preferred: strong statistical and data-driven problem solving.
  • Preferred: working knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 15000 and TS 16949.
  • Preferred: understanding of lean concepts.
  • Preferred: strong customer focus and a positive attitude at all times.
  • Preferred: professional demeanor with customers and coworkers at all times.
  • Preferred: high proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Preferred: strong written and verbal communication.
  • Preferred: self-directed, ethical role model who can work with minimal supervision.

Based in the Hamilton, OH or Skokie, IL location, on site.
