Description

The company makes memory and storage products, and its EDA and design enablement team builds and maintains the tools, methods and design flows that let engineers create CMOS designs at scale.

The team works closely with design, layout and process engineers to solve technical problems that feed directly into product development.

This role centres on hands-on software work: building and fixing both in-house and commercial EDA tools, improving engineering productivity and design quality, and helping engineers get the most from their tools.

Responsibilities

  • Build, maintain and improve EDA tools, design flows and methods used for CMOS design and verification.
  • Debug, assess and support in-house and commercial EDA tools running on Linux/Unix.
  • Work with design, layout and process engineers to find and fix problems in workflows, automation and tool integration.
  • Write and keep up technical documentation, and train and support engineering users.
  • Where suitable, use AI-assisted tools to speed up development, automate workflows and improve design enablement.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in computer engineering, computer science or a related technical field, or equivalent industry experience.
  • 2+ years of industry experience in VLSI, IC design, semiconductor design methods or CAD/EDA tools.
  • Experience with schematic capture, physical layout, simulation, verification or related design flows.
  • Experience programming in Python and SKILL.
  • Experience in Linux/Unix environments, including shell scripting and automation.
  • Experience building AI and agentic AI systems.
  • Ability to learn and apply AI-enabled tools to improve engineering productivity and workflows.
  • Preferred: solid software development experience and strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Preferred: understanding of CMOS implementation trade-offs, including area, performance and power optimisation.
  • Preferred: experience developing, supporting or improving EDA design flows, automation or engineering infrastructure.
  • Preferred: clear written and verbal communication and the ability to work across engineering teams.
