Description

The role sits in Brno, where the company builds high-tech electron microscopes and spectrometers. Some of these instruments support SARS-CoV-2 research and help make phone components smaller. The site is the largest producer of electron microscopes in the world and has more than 70 years of history. Staff include specialists in physics, electronics, software, mechanical engineering and logistics.

The Sample Prep and Analysis group builds and maintains software that automates Scanning Electron Microscopes. Semiconductor customers use it to find manufacturing defects, speed up research and improve the reliability, performance and energy efficiency of new chips.

The company is hiring a Software Quality Assurance Engineer to raise the quality of software across its product range. You will work with software engineers, product owners, system architects and domain experts to meet demanding standards for reliability, performance and usability. The software controls scientific instruments to nanometer precision inside an international R&D setting, and it supports the making of advanced chips and memory.

Tech stack: C,.NET Standard and Python, for Windows applications. Regression tests run in Robot Framework, GitLab handles DevOps, Jira tracks bugs, OpenCV covers image processing and AI, and Elastic stack, Docker and Kubernetes are also in use.

  • Keep test scenario documentation up to date.
  • Write SQA recommendation reports.
  • Spot risks during test execution and help reduce them.
  • Find chances to improve testing processes and product quality.

  • At least 3 years of agile software development experience.
  • Experience with software development processes.

  • A love of science.
  • Interest in learning to work with high-end hardware equipment.
  • Experience testing APIs, including RESTful services with tools such as Swagger or OpenAPI.
